Marvel Snap has certainly seen its share of dominant two-piece combos. There are other obvious combos, like Howard the Duck and Iron Lad. There are other powerful combos, like
This week’s Snapalytics is about card pairings. Some of you may recognize that topic from one of my earliest articles on Marvel Snap Zone. It’s now six weeks later and the metagame looks completely different — it’s a great time to look at the top-performing pairs again! Last time, there were certainly surprises among the bunch. Surprises that inspired my own deck-building — heck, I ended up throwing Maria Hill into a deck that ended up being my favorite deck I’ve ever made (and I took it to Infinite last season). I’m sure there will be some interesting surprises this time around, too.
Stick around until the end! After going through top cards among various segments of players, I’ll be listing the best partner cards for every card in the game.

The Dataset
The data being analyzed is ranked matches recorded by our Marvel Snap Tracker over the past two weeks.
We’re looking at pairs that appeared in the same deck together. Requiring them to be drawn would be more meaningful, but we only recently started storing data in a way that would support that.
Note that over half of the time covered predates the recent nerfs to Black Bolt and Stature, as well as the release of High Evolutionary. I don’t think Black Bolt and Stature were nerfed very hard, but it’s worth keeping in mind that they may be overrepresented (and High Evolutionary underrepresented).
Because the meta game varies quite a bit at different ranks and collection levels, I’ve divided them up accordingly:
Rank
Mid: 30–69
High: 70–99
Infinite: 100+
Collection Level
Mid: 486–2099
High: 2100+
Players at Collection Level 486 have completed Pool 2.
Players at Collection Level 2100 have completed roughly half of Pool 3, which currently holds 98 cards.
Just as an FYI, players will currently complete Pool 3 around Collection Level 4600. This does depend on several factors, including how many Pool 3 cards the player has collected with tokens (a feature that used to be available, and will be available again).
Your Dynamic Duos
Like last time, I’ve applied minimum requirements to make sure luck or an especially skilled player aren’t skewing the data. Cutoffs for minimum match appearances and deck appearances will be listed at the top of each section.
Also like last time, the following data is available for each section. I suggest focusing on the category that applies to your current rank and collection level, but also skimming the other categories.
- Top 10 pairs by usage
- Top 10 pairs by win rate + honorable mentions
- Top 10 pairs by cube rate + honorable mentions

Before You Go…
A quick reminder that this article includes a full list of every card and the best cards to pair with it. That’s gonna be a long list, so I’m going to place it beneath the Conclusion section. Don’t forget to check it out!
Conclusion
This data is LOADED with surprises! I’m happy about it. Besides how fun that is, It’s a sign of a healthy, diverse meta. I think any of us who have played recently could have told you the meta’s in a good place — acknowledging that Galactus play rates are seemingly only going up, and there was a really big burst of High Evolutionary play that isn’t done settling yet.
I find it fascinating how some of the top pairs are hard to find if you’re only looking at the top decks. There are pairs that I look at and I’m not sure what deck(s) they represent! Do you know which decks are rocking both Hazmat and Leader? Or Black Panther and Star-Lord? How about The Infinaut and Viper? My best guess is the She-Naut (with Moon Girl, Magik, and She-Hullk) and maybe a goofy list where you Leech yourself. But I’m not sure until I go to our decks database and search for decks containing both cards.
Marvel Snap decks are small, and that means every slot in a deck is influential. When I review the top pairs and find the unexpected, quiet performers, I’m reminded how much space there still is to explore. I find that incredibly exciting — the potential of somebody discovering the next deck that breaks or defines the meta. Or maybe just the potential of finding something I can climb ranks with! 😅
I hope all this data on top-performing card pairs inspires a bunch of you to try out or invent something new! It will certainly inform my deck-building in the coming weeks. And, if you’re not much of a deck-builder, I hope you at least found it educational about the meta. I was delighted to see Maria Hill show up again (even in the lowest category). I was not expecting Deadpool to claim so many “Cube Rate” spots (or any). I definitely didn’t think Galactus would be the High Evo representation in Infinite ranks! If any of you do make something cool inspired by the pairings in this article, please do share them with me in the comments below or else on Twitter. 💜
This analysis was powered by the data from our Marvel Snap Tracker. If you play on PC or Android, consider giving it a download! It has many features including a live overlay, the ability to sync your collection to our site, letting you review your personal stats, and powering useful tools like the Meta Snapshot.
Besties List
Cutoffs were applied to this list to ensure the matches represented competitive play (high, pre-infinite ranks), maximized opportunities for rarer cards to appear (higher collection level), and minimized the effects of luck or exceptionally skilled players (minimum match count).
