Snap Judgments Deck of the Day: The Ancient One’s Best Deck!

Good morning all! I’m back at Marvel Snap Zone with a deck of the day: a top deck for you to try out! My aim for this article is to get you in and out quickly and give you something new to play every day along with the tools to do well with it. Check out the video for a verbal explanation of this and three other new decks.

Yikes. This card is not doing it, at least so far. Paying 6 for 5 energy is often a big ask, and it functionally requires you to want to use one card to buff other lanes, and to get very lucky in terms of disruption. The problem is with your turn 3 dedicated to this and half of a turn 6 to Tao Mandala, there’s often not enough energy to really buff the other stuff you’re going for. That makes this card a huge miss, and, as a community memember stated, TAO (the initials or Mandala) might as well stand for Talk to me After the OTA.

Still, TAO has one good deck, even if it doesn’t really need the card, and its from our current Golden Gauntlet champion!

Roram’s brilliance here is in figuring out how to get use out of Ancient One with plenty of cards that don’t seem to go together. It’s still overcosted and clunky, but it can also be game winning in this specific deck.

Quinjet makes the Tao Mandala affordable, so it’s a must in many of these decks, but there needs to be other use for the Quinjet or it’s just a bad card. Enter Frigga (and Nico’s copy spell) along with Moongirl. Now we’re getting somewhere, so we need a card to use Tao on, and Victoria Hand makes sense, along with an extra card generator of cheap cards to buff, Kate Bishop.

But you don’t need hand here. An Ongoing shell does a lot of the heavy lifting. Moonstone and Captain Carter remain a lane winning combination, and don’t need much extra support. That lets Tao win another lane by copying either Goliath or U.S. Agent. Multiples of either card can easily win a heavily contested lane out of nowhere, as three Goliath’s all feed on each other, or three U.S. Agents can easily give -6 to a lane each, for a total of -18 plus their own 9 power.
