Good morning all! I’m back at Marvel Snap Zone with a deck of the day: a top deck for you to try out! My aim for this article is to get you in and out quickly and give you something new to play every day along with the tools to do well with it. Check out the video for a verbal explanation of this and three other new decks.
Drk_Razr is a 15-year-old Marvel Snap prodigy. He previously competed in the top 10 of the Infinite Leaderboard, but stepped away from competetive snap due to school. Well, it’s summer, and Drk came back in a big way, climbing all the way up to the #1 spot on the Infinite Leaderboard with a shock list.
Outside of hot locations, Drk has been using an off meta (and cheap) Silver Surfer list. Upon his return to the game, he wanted to play Surfer, so he hooked up with HeartoftheCardsSnap and cooked up this monster of a deck.
This deck, of course, has the standard Silver Surfer package of Galacta and Brood, but instead of the second power card like Captain Carter or Sebastian Shaw, Drk runs a bunch of disruption. There’s mainstays like Juggernaut (an absolute cube stealer right now) and the nearly required Red Guardian, but much more of the power comes from using Moon Knight and Gambit. Moon Knight around turn 5 is insanely strong, as most cheap even cards are gone, leaving you a likely powerful hit for Fenris Wolf and often a free 7-Power from Proxima Midnight. Gambit can also be a free Proxima, but gives you shockingly powerful play into lanes that otherwise appear lost.
This deck has two other impressive superpowers. First, Cassandra Nova gives it a positive matchup into Arishem, as it’s basically a solo lane-winner in that match up. It’s pretty good into Thanos, as well. The other is the return of Hope Summers to Silver Surfer. With that card, this deck is able to get an extra 3-cost card out on turn 5, allowing it to have more power than it seems.
Card Replacements
- Twitch.tv/Drk_Razr
- Needs: Fenris, Galacta
- Proxima -> Swarm (fine with Moon Knight, worse w/ Gambit)
- Hope -> Luna Snow
- Red Guardian -> Rogue, Copycat
- Merlin -> Kate Bishop, Forge
- Cassandra Nova -> Gladiator, Captain Carter, Negasonic Teenage Warhead
Turn by Turn
- Turn 1: Pass
- Turn 2: Fenris if Proxima and no other 2 > Merlin if Hope or no Galacta > Fenris if Galacta
- Turn 3: Hope Summers > Cassaandra Nova > Moon Knight or Red Guardian
- Turn 4: Galacta > Turn 3 + Merlin spell (if you need the energy, Merlin can be put in deck for +2 here, and if you have a clear end game curve, turn him into a 3 now)
- Turn 5: 3+3 or Brood/MK + Fenris Wolf
- Turn 6: Gambit/Brood/Juggernaut + Surfer
Thanos for stopping by! Check out a stream on Twitch.tv/PulseGlazer.
