Sleeper Decks of the Week – 3 of the Top 4 Decks on Post-Infinite Ladder, Skaar and Caiera Take the Stage, More!

Check out the best Marvel Snap decks in this column before they become popular in the meta! There are a lot of awesome decks waiting to be discovered that can take your opponent's Cubes by surprise!

Hello everyone and welcome to Sleeper Decks of the Week! I’m Glazer of Snap Judgments: The Official Marvel Snap Zone Podcast, and in this article, I’m going to take you through all of my favorite Sleeper Decks this week. In addition to the podcast (this week’s episode has a breakdown of all the new card and Spotlights of the Planet Hulk Season, the Leaks of the Patch Notes, and the Marvel Snap Roadmap ft. Jessnapz, Phil Woodard, and themaster_not), I do my own daily videos where I scour the darkest corners of the net (ahem Twitter and the various Marvel Snap sites) to find the best decks in Marvel Snap before the meta notices.

Remember: Each deck title will take you to a video explanation of the deck, so don’t be shy – check them out!

Three of the Top 4 Decks on Infinite Ladder

This week, we were lucky enough to get access to three of the top 4 decks on Infinite Ladder last season. Naturally, they all featured Ms. Marvel.

Deck Thoughts:
This deck was the official #1 deck in all of Marvel Snap in the hands of a 14-year-old free-to-play player. Pretty wild, right?

This deck is essentially a Sera + Zabu Miracle deck with an insane high roll thanks to Black Knight. It uses Black Knight (and the package of cards that support him) to cheat out either 12 or 20-power while retaining the flexibility of a major tech card – Shang-Chi – thanks to Zabu and the fact that both Ghost Rider and the Ebony Blade are 4-cost.

Gladiator isn’t a requirement here, and indeed, as the meta shifts, might be better as Enchantress, Rogue, or even Cosmo, though if you do keep him, Shang goes a long way to fixing his low-rolls. Ms. Marvel is a needed card here, but if you must, you can try Enchantress in that spot. Don’t play this without Black Knight or Zabu, but Jeff is just fine as Medusa or Lizard.

Deck Thoughts:
The #2 deck and unofficial #1 deck comes from Sizer, a player located in Vienna. If you’re unsure how he could be the unofficial champ, check the video linked in the title.

Sizer’s deck at first doesn’t look super impressive. It’s a Storm lockdown that runs Doctor Doom or Alioth and rewards good play. The win rate of the deck shows that it truly has that special alchemy that makes a deck great. Here, we combine a move package with two key tech cards to stop what opponents are doing. The move grabs priority thanks to its power and flexibility while both Echo and Mobius M. Mobius (and to a lesser extent Nebula and Iceman) offer proactive control over where and how opponents play cards.

Echo can be Spider-Ham, but not much else. Without her, you may need to run Enchantress. Nebula or Jeff can be Nightcrawler, but it’s tough to be missing both. Ms. Marvel is pivotal, but Jubilee or Super Skrull could try to replace Iron Lad. Silk could be Medusa, Mobius can be Rogue or Cosmo, and Alioth can be any other purple fart cloud.

Deck Thoughts:
Sizer was kind enough to get us the #4 deck this season from Mollinator. The #3, which we didn’t feature, is the exceedingly popular Annihilus Werewolf By Night Bounce that KM Best has been playing and popularized.

Mollinator’s deck is another Storm control list, but this uses Jessica Jones and Crossbones (along with Ms. Marvel and Vision) to control that lane. Instead of winning with Alioth, this deck chooses to go with Blob or Destroyer. The Destroyer add gives us Cosmo and Armor, and the deck is off to the races.

You need Blob and Ms, Marvel here. Echo or Iceman can replace Nebula, while Jeff can be Medusa.

Skaar and Caiera Are Here!

The first week of the season saw the first time two cards were released in the same week since the Kitty Pryde re-release. This one is more expensive (Kitty was free) and less powerful (Kitty was broken and nerfed 3x), but both Skaar and, especially, Caiera are extremely powerful in the right deck.

Deck Thoughts:
Zabu lets a 10-power card (Namor or Attuma) come out early. If you can get both of those and then Ronan, well, that’s a free Skaar. Pretty good, right? Even without that, though, Ms. Marvel gives this play to go wide and there are plenty of tall cards here since they work with Skaar anyway. Armor can make Attuma a lane winner alone, especially with Ms. Marvel. If that and Ronan, happen, that’s a 2-cost Skaar. Really good!

This is built for Skaar and Ms. Marvel. Zabu is the deck, naturally. Master Mold can be Jeff, Medusa, or Nightcrawler, while Echo works as Iceman or Spider-Ham.

Deck Thoughts:
BigOldBuck is a great YouTuber with super creative decks. This is a Magik deck that really abuses that card. With Magik, it’s pretty easy to use pumps on Sebastian Shaw, Thor, and Gladiator to get three 10-power cards with Silver Surfer‘s buff. At that point, a turn 7 of Odin and Skaar is just massively strong. Enjoy!

You need all the high-series ones here, sorry.

Deck Thoughts:
This deck is built entirely for Blob. Blob is to be copied by either the Living Tribunal or Taskmaster. That tends to be an insane amount of power. The rest of the deck is big stuff to be eaten by Blob or ramp to get Blob into play… and, of course, Caiera to protect the Blob. If Blob goes off with a bunch of big stuff in the deck and they don’t have Shadow King, well, you usually win. This is a very strong and very high win-rate deck.

You need Blob. Caiera can be Cosmo, but the deck gets worse. At that point, you can add Arnim Zola, too. Tribunal is a must, though.

Deck Thoughts:
Our friend and awesome streamer DougPie hit Infinite with this list. There’s nothing crazy complicated here – if Magik sticks and no Mobius the power of unkillable 1-cost cards thanks to Caiera (Sunspot, Nebula, and Misty) meets the power of unkillable 6-drops (The Infinaut, Hulk, and She-Hulk). Everything works together here pretty well.

Enchantress is the surprise card here. If Magik‘s Limbo is killed, you usually die, but if Mobius is played, you’re likewise dead. You can’t handle both, so this deck chooses the Mobius problem while also having an Enchantress for Ms. Marvel.

You need Evolutionary. The deck works without Caiera, but it’s way worse. Shocker can replace Nebula.

Miscellaneous Decks

Here we have decks that don’t fit in the previous categories, but they’re still unique and powerful!

Deck Thoughts:
Our friend Minh built the best Jean Grey deck in several months and used it for an easy Day 1 Infinite. Jean, Nebula, and Kraven in different lanes before turn 4 make this extremely hard to beat, basically guaranteeing priority. Move cards on Jean Grey allow for both flexibility of play and really strong stats while Ms. Marvel and Doctor Doom allow the deck to go wide as needed. Splash in Magneto to beat some Ms. Marvel or Silver Surfer nonsense and Alioth to guarantee a win if you know where they have to play, and you have a really strong current meta answer.

This deck is built around the idea of Jean and Alioth. Silk and Jeff are mostly needed, but one can be Nightcrawler. Nico can be any 1-cost card – Echo, Iceman, Spider-Ham. Nebula can be Nightcrawler too, but it’s a major, major hit for the deck. Ms. Marvel is a must or the Jean-mid play is off-limits. Iron Lad can be Jubilee or a tech card.

Deck Thoughts:
I took the GetRekt Havok bounce deck and then just added Iron Man and Shadow King. Well, I immediately went 7-2 and won an Infinity border. This season I’m 9-2 with it so far. I sent it to Obihaved. He immediately went 7-2. That’s 79%.

The deck is simple. Play to get double use out of 1-cost cards. If they don’t have an answer for him, Iron Man on 5 is a lane winner, and so is just getting down Bishop and a couple of 1s. to get set up for a Mysterio and Hit Monkey on turn 6. You can regularly get one lane to 30-power and another in the high 20s.

Hit Monkey is the key to the deck. Spider-Ham can be Iceman and Nico Minoru can be Hawkeye. Nico change is a major loss, though, as her turn into Demon, copy a Demon or Hit Monkey, or kill a weak card to draw 2 are all often worth snapping on.

Deck Thoughts:
Well, this is the best Kang deck and easily the most fun Selene deck. Pure junk with Ravonna Renslayer makes great use of Kang – he’s often an extra draw on 4 or 5 and a Snap condition. Kang also helps steal cubes and is cube management when you can’t win. Storm right makes Sentry a phenomenal play, and the rest is just good, ahead-of-rate junk gaming.

Selene can be Echo, Spider-Ham, Iceman or even Scorpion here. Kang is great. but not pivotal. Replace with Enchantress or Shang-Chi. Ms. Marvel, Annihilus, Ravonna, and Alioth are must have.
