Second Dinner continues the series of bundles like “3,500 Collector’s Tokens for 3,000 Gold,” and the bundle in question is just from this category. There’s nothing particularly surprising or new here, but let’s still go through the numbers.
As mentioned earlier, we have a typical example of a bundle with 3500 Tokens For 3000 Gold. It provides 0.86 Tokens per Gold, surpassing the best Token Tuesdays with their 1,200 Collector’s Tokens for 1,500 Gold and 0.8 Tokens per Gold, respectively.
And this is so far the best relatively regular result we’ve seen, especially for such a price. In the future, there may be bundles for 7,000-10,000 that will have more Collector’s Tokens for Gold, but the bundle in question can still be considered a very good option for obtaining Tokens.
But we also need to consider the following. As mentioned in the Snap Packs announcement, players will have the opportunity to directly purchase Collector’s Tokens from the shop through Token Packs. We don’t know how much they will cost or what rate will be offered, but it’s quite possible that it will be on par with Token Tuesdays, and bundles like the one we’re considering will still hold good value.
Comparison With Other Bundles
When comparing the bundle to those from the past year, it sits just above the average Progress Value, while among bundles from the last 6 months, it has fallen below average, trailing behind bundles with Credits.
Among the bundles at the same price, it also shows quite average results, and if you don’t expand the price range by 25%, it sits on a plateau along with other similar bundles (last chart).
But if you need Collector’s Tokens, we haven’t seen bundles with a better value of Tokens for Gold in the last 15 months (except for one bundle with an erroneous price). So statistically, this is the best that Second Dinner can offer in terms of Collector’s Tokens, if we don’t try to guess what other bundles await us in the future.
Considering the entire era of Spotlight Caches, this bundle in terms of new cards for 700 Gold is at an average value and doesn’t stand out in any significant way. And if we take the period of the last 6 months, the bundle drops significantly below the average value.
The Usefulness of the Variant in the Meta
As for potential uses of the Beast variant, there isn’t much interesting for Series 3 players, as it’s difficult to combine Beast with the existing cards in that Collection Level while maintaining a good win rate.
As for veterans with a complete collection, the best (and probably only good) place for the beast is the Sizer Move deck, which has slightly fallen out of the meta for about a month now.
Conclusion
Thus, we have a rather weak bundle no matter where you look. Its only advantage is that it offers the best value of Collector’s Tokens for Gold, and it’s unknown whether Token Packs will provide more Tokens for the same amount.
Only for this reason am I forced not to give the bundle 2 or 2.5 stars that it deserves. Considering that one of the two resources that bundles can have is present here in sufficient quantity and gives the bundle 3 stars.
Considering that one of the two resources that bundles can have is in sufficient quantity here, and that we don’t know how good the future token-oriented economy will be, I’ll give the bundle 3 stars, albeit with some reservations.
