The new bundle for Gold has just been released, and it seems it isn’t as good as the previous ones, which were already known for their low value. Moreover, we recently saw a bundle with a variant for Jane Foster, and at a lower price. But let’s take it step by step.
Guide
For 3,200 Gold, we get some cosmetics to taste and 4,000 Credits, which already cost 3,200 Gold when purchasing missions or Credits through the shop. Therefore, this provides 0% additional Progress Value for those waiting for bundles specifically to accelerate progress rather than for the cosmetics.
II completely don’t understand why Second Dinner couldn’t add at least 100 Credits on top to make this bundle even slightly better than the usual price. But no, even without comparison, we have a bundle that’s worth getting only for those who have truly fallen in love with this Jane Foster. Everyone else will have to wait a considerable amount of time for something even slightly more valuable.
Comparison With Other Bundles
In the first chart, it’s clear that the Goated bundle isn’t GOAT at all and falls short compared to all bundles in the same price category released over the past six months. It only falls behind the Edge Of Evil bundle, which suffers due to the inclusion of Collector’s Tokens and the change in calculation methodology that now considers better token bundles, which weren’t known as a regular occurrence at the time of the Edge Of Evil release.
The second chart shows the Goated bundle compared to all other named bundles released in the past month. The picture isn’t any better here – the Goated bundle is among the worst, only narrowly beating the terrible Long Live The King. Overall, the bundle in question is clearly at the bottom of the list.
The next group of charts is dedicated to the comparison based on the Credits per Gold ratio, which is an especially important value for those not interested in Collector’s Tokens.
And here, no surprises – the standard value of 1.25 Credits per Gold is good if you’re buying Credits for Gold anyway, and with the bundle, you simply get a variant and avatar. But this isn’t what F2P players and those with a small budget usually aim for.
The chart shows a huge gap from January 6 to June 6, when there were no bundles offering just Credits at a reasonable price. However, even now, after the decline in the value of bundles, there are still bundles with slightly better Credit-to-Gold ratios – for example, the Pizza Time! bundle with its 1.31 Credits per Gold or Operation: Summer Break with 1.36 Credits per Gold.
Therefore, it’s quite likely that we’ll still see nice bundles with Credits offering a Credit-to-Gold ratio higher than the standard or at least with a number of Collector’s Tokens that will bring the Progress Value above 100%.
The Usefulness Of The Variant In The Meta
Jane Foster is a Series 3 card, which means those who don’t have it can use it as an alternative to the basic card in their decks. However, this is not the most useful and popular card in the meta for beginners, who could use this variant to strengthen their collection, nor in the meta for veterans.
Decks that somewhat utilize Jane Foster include the not-so-stable Mr. Negative deck, which has a win rate below 50% and doesn’t offer great cube gains, and the Pixie deck, where you can realize Jane Foster’s potential, but this deck isn’t cheap and is more fun-oriented than competitive.
Nonetheless, Jane Foster isn’t entirely out of the meta; she’s just used infrequently, which naturally lowers the subjective value of her variant in this context for both beginners and veterans.
Conclusion
Thus, the Goated bundle turned out to be not very good: it doesn’t provide any additional value, and the only reason to consider buying it is the variant for Jane Foster, which you might be in love with. However, we recently saw another bundle with a variant for Jane Foster – the Mjolnir’s Favorite bundle. So, there’s a high chance that Jane Foster fans already chose the cheaper bundle a couple of months ago, making the release of this bundle even more strange and doubtful in its current form.
So, unfortunately, I can’t recommend this bundle for purchase. If it included at least 100 Credits more, it would be worth considering and carefully counting the Gold in your pocket. But as it stands now, it’s a definite pass.
