A new affordable bundle has been released! And while we always say that Credits are the key to value, will the bundle have enough Credits to compete with other good bundles, or isn’t the deal worth it? Let’s find out.
As you can see from the bundle card, it offers 3,500 Credits for a very low price – only 2,500 Gold! And that also gives it a Total Tokens per Gold of 0.93 and Credits per Gold of 1.4.
At the same time the Progress Value isn’t that high – only 113%. Of course, it isn’t just 100%, as it sometimes is, but it’s also not the 128% of pricier bundles, some of which even include a variant for a Series 5 card.
Overall, this looks pretty good and, given how good Credits usually are, it can be misleading and prompt you to buy the bundle right away. But let’s compare it with other bundles – it’ll be interesting.
Comparison With Other Bundles
By the first comparison criterion in terms of Progress Value, the bundle among other unique bundles for Gold performs so-so – it’s average when looking at bundles over a 12-month period and noticeably below average when looking at bundles over a 6-month period.
By the first comparison criterion in terms of Progress Value, the bundle among other unique bundles for Gold performs so-so – it’s average when looking at bundles over a 12-month period and noticeably below average when looking at bundles over a 6-month period.
As for comparison with other bundles in the same price range – the picture is similar. Over 12 months the bundle is slightly above average, but over 6 months it performs among the worst bundles for its price.
In terms of Credits per Gold the bundle obviously isn’t as good as Booster Packs with their 1.67 Credits per Gold, but it still shows a solid result of 1.4.
So if you don’t really need to chase new cards and want more unique splits, the bundle gives you that opportunity, using Gold very efficiently when paired with Booster Packs.
And finally, by the most important metric, Total Tokens per Gold, we see a similar picture to Progress Value. Among 12-month bundles it’s slightly above average and lags behind not only almost all 5,000 Gold bundles but also 2,000 – 3,000 Gold bundles like Girl Boss Era and Sorcerer’s Purr-entice. In the case of bundles over the last 6 months, the bundle again falls below average, which further exposes its shortcomings.
Thus, overall, by its metrics, the bundle isn’t the worst, but it doesn’t fit into the list of good ones. So its position is slightly below average.
You could say its low price makes up for it, but as long as there are uncompromisingly good Booster Packs – that’d be debatable, since Booster Packs look even better in that light with their penny price and huge value.
Use cases for the Quinjet variant
Since the bundle includes the Quinjet variant, there’s little additional hidden value here since it’s a Series 3 card.
For those with an already largely complete collection, the best use for this variant is probably in an Arishem deck, though it’s often replaced these days in favor of tech cards.
For those with a fairly modest collection, I can suggest these budget decks that use Quinjet.
Alternatively, you can just take the deck above as a base, add Arishem, Quinjet, some good 2-cost, 4-cost, and 5-cost cards, and call it a budget Arishem build!
Conclusion
In the end, I find it hard to recommend this bundle to a wide range of players.
Sure, it isn’t bad, but you’ve got too many other, better options, from Booster Packs to bundles for 5,000 Gold, which even without a Series 5 card usually have a high enough value to pick them without hesitation.
And only for those who don’t need Tokens and new cards that much – I can suggest buying the bundle, since such Credits-to-Gold values occur quite rarely and it’s worth taking advantage of the moment for new splits.
And as always – I recommend buying Booster Packs every Saturday. They’re especially worth paying attention to if you don’t have much Gold and saving up for something better seems like an impossible and overly time-consuming task. These bundles will cost about 1,800 Gold per month in exchange for better value immediately after bundles with high-series cards. These bundles will cost about 1,800 Gold per month for the best value among bundles, right after bundles with high-series cards.
