For 24 hours between May 31, 2023 at 3 AM GMT to June 1, 2023 at 3 AM GMT, it will have a 50% chance of showing up in games. Players who strategically build around the location or counter the decks that do so can have an advantage over their opponents! Let’s find out what the best strategies, cards, and decks are for the new meta!
There is a known issue involving the new Deep Space Location and its interactions with the cards Colossus, Super-Skrull, and Luke Cage. We highly encourage avoiding playing these cards in Deep Space to improve your gameplay experience while we work out the bugs! Please be patient and we’ll get this fixed soon.
Strategy and General Tips
Deep Space will turn off all card text but also presumably not allow for On Reveal effects to happen when played directly into the location. This has a lot of applications which can be applied to modify your decks to take advantage of or could even just be used as a Zero effect when you don’t want an ability activation.
First, anything with negative effects are turned off. Cards like Typhoid Mary, Ebony Maw and Lizard all benefit from this change significantly.

Due to the wording of the location cards like Sentry and Attuma also benefit from this location directly.

Another interaction which may come in handy is playing cards like Cloak and Polaris when you don’t want the effect to go off, maintaining the ability to play these cards into other locations when you do want the effect.

The downside is, any card which wants their effects to go off. However, the location does not mean you cannot play these decks, but it limits how you can play them significantly. If the location flips, you are now limited to two lanes with a lot of cards, which includes the Evolved cards from High Evolutionary. Some builds of Patriot, however can play around this as the power comes from very few cards effects and the others can be played into the location.

We would normally include Storm as part of the conversation – but in this case she shouldn’t activate. If your opponent does play cards into this location like Typhoid Mary or Attuma, their is effectively nothing you can do to remove these.

Deck Features
This is a basic Shuri and Sauron build which allows us to take advantage of the location when we miss on Sauron. The build allows you to contest two lanes with the classic Shuri combinations and also play several high powered cheap cards. Sauron on 3 remains preferable but when we have a location like this one we sometimes don’t need it and we can play the overstated cards for that lane and copy across to another lane.
Sentry Lockdown has a strange advantage due to the location. We can use the location to stop the On Reveal and if we lock other lanes down we know they cannot play abilities into the location. This limits what your opponent can do. We go back to Destroyer build here as this is another card which can be turned off at the end of the game using the location, or left to activate if we need to clean up our side of the board.
This deck looks to combine the above two ideas by including the Sentry package and the Shuri package. This should allow for The Void to be handled effectively on a consistent basis and be flexible. The rest of the plan is to play the negative effects into Deep Space where you can and when you can’t the package should allow you to negate these effects.
Classic Patriot lists have the advantage of all the main power cards not being on the location. This should allow for this deck to operate as normal whilst having the advantage at the location. The goal is to play the cards which will not have abilities anyway into the location, stack other lanes with your combinations and buff these over the top of your opponents cards.
Series 2 and below (pre-CL 474)
Series 2 is limited into the location. Therefore we look at a On Reveal deck which can sneak into the location or just use Storm.
What is the Deep Space?

In the Marvel Universe, Deep Space represents the infinite reaches of the cosmos, a playground for cosmic beings, alien civilizations, and the intrepid heroes who venture into the unknown.
TLDR: It’s Space and no one can hear your abilities!
