Khonshu is the new Spotlight Card that comes out this week, and in many ways he’s a big Ghost Rider. Sure, there’s more to him than that and he needs to be used with different cards, but at his core it’s the same concept. For Ghost Rider, you discard a card and bring it back at Ghost Rider‘s location. Khonshu does the same thing, bringing back one card, but at another location…

Okay, there’s more to it than that. Khonshu not only brings a card back, that card gets Khonshu‘s power. That means the targets you want are different; instead of The Infinaut or Magneto, you’re going for Gorr or Iron Man. And the more Khonshu is discarded, the bigger he and the card he brings back get. That’s pretty good, too. Using this card in combination with Ghost Rider and The First Ghost Rider, there’s almost certainly a package to be played.

But there’s also the ability to use him with Hela, even though she was recently nerfed into oblivion. Hela‘s nerfs make sense in the context of how good the deck was and that it was getting another card. The Denish version of the list even ran Ghost Rider and Gorr for easy replacements. This version seems mean, even after the Hela nerfs.

Starter Card

This deck is proven consistent, as Denish has used this shell for multiple top 100 finishes. The key card in this deck is Corvus Glaive—which is in Spotlights with Khonshu—and that card both gives you an extra way to discard Khonshu as well as a way to play it early.

Khonshu for this list is your Hela safety. If Hela is discarded, Khonshu has two shots at getting her back thanks to Odin and Grand Master. If that doesn’t work, you can still win by getting back Gorr and Iron Man with extra power. You should basically always see Hela and Khonshu between Blink and Jubilee, so this list should be consistent and super frustrating for opponents.
