Snap Judgments Deck of the Day: The Hela That Hit Rank 2!

Good morning all! I’m back at Marvel Snap Zone every weekday with a deck of the day: a top deck for you to try out! My aim for this article is to get you in and out quickly and give you something new to play every day along with the tools to do well with it. If you want three more new decks today, check out this video!

Butt is one of the best Marvel Snap players in the world, often famous for playing off-meta decks. He’s been rank 4 in a season before and has been top 5 for basically this entire one, too, while playing entirely off-meta decks. As of this writing, he’s rank 3 on the Infinite Leaderboard, but he peaked at rank two with this Hela deck. Hela will always be inconsistent, more now that it’s changed in the most recent OTA, but this is as good as it gets – a super strong deck once you’re practiced with Snapping and retreating.

Hela now only brings back cards of different costs, so the entire deck is built with that in mind. In a meta with hands full of Swarms of Kate Bishop‘s arrows, the biggest 5 to bring back is often Ronan the Accuser. As far as 6s go, Gorr is the best there, and also has an absolute ton of synergy with discard. It’s both a perfect target for Silver Samurai and perfect at counting Fenris Wolf. Fenris is one of the major Hela counters, but it doesn’t go get Gorr if there’s anything else discarded wince it doesn’t see his Ongoing power. 4 is usually a spot you’re not discarding, though Malekith is fine there, largely because so many of the cheap cards are great grabs, in particular Maximus who is not only huge, but helps Ronan. by putting more cards in the opponent’s hand. The best 3s to get are Baron Zemo and Morph. Zemo and Morph have the potential to play for an absolute ton of power for their cost at the end of the game.

Each discard is hyper-specific for this list except Blade, who’s perfect because he just fits into numerous decks. Sword Master is stellar at getting one of the threes or Ronan, but also, as a 3-7 it’s absolutely huge on Iron Patriot. That Iron Patriot card? It’s either a ton of free power or amazing with Blink to make sure you get Hela. Silver Samurai? We already talked about Gorr, but he’s also great for Morph and has a 50-50 with Baron Zemo and Ronan.

All of this works together, and then you play Hela. Snap when it works, retreat when it doesn’t. Enjoy.

Card Replacements

  1. Needs: Blink, Gorr, Malekith
  2. Baron Zemo -> Gladiator, biggest 3 you’ve got
  3. Iron Patriot -> Cable, Mirage
