Best Chameleon Decks and Strategy Guide

Is the new card worth buying or trying your luck in Snap Packs? Read our guide and find some decks to try out on day 1 in here!

Chameleon is part of the series 4 cards joining Marvel Snap for the November 2025 Season, Arachnid Anarchy. It is a 3-Cost, 3-Power card that reads: On Reveal: Copy the text of another card here you revealed this turn.

Today, let’s explore the new card strengths and, of course, the best decks to try it out in.

Series 4 cards can be purchased for 3,000 Collector’s Tokens from the Token Shop as the latest Seasonal Spotlight card. They will be also be included in the Seasonal Series 4 Snap Pack for 2,500 Collector’s Tokens during their season and the following one.

Strengths and Weaknesses

Compared to Prodigy, Absorbing Man or Mystique, Chameleon has to be played the same turn as our target, which makes it much harder to incorporate to our game plan. Indeed, except if we were to gain energy, or discount our cards, Chameleon can effectively only copy 3-cost cards or less, on top of being played on their location.

Before diving into more complicated play-patterns, let’s have a look at cards we might be interested to copy amongst the cheap options :

Copying another card’s text has always been a strong ability, so this is no surprise to see many worth candidates. However, due to Chameleon’s restriction to be played on the same turn and location as the target, we need to find cards able to impact other locations, or cheap enough to be played early and flexibly.

Now, if a Wiccan, Merlin, Luna Snow, Superior Spider-Man or other mean to get energy would get in the mix, Chameleon gains some appeal. However, we still have to consider cards able to impact multiple locations :

Chameleon does not say “play” but “reveal”, meaning we can bypass the limitation with cards played early, but revealed later on :

When pulled by Malekith, Chameleon should be able to copy the 6-cost we played on the last turn, while Invisible Woman allows us to hide anything behind her, and Chameleon with copy it as long as it reveals after it.

The Verdict: Should You Get Chameleon?

Cerebro 3 is a solid archetype at the moment, which could be enough for Chameleon to see play. Indeed, Cerebro plus Chameleon is arguably stronger than with Mystique, since the new 3-cost would benefit from the buff.

However, we would be forced to play both on the same location, circling back to that lack of flexibility, especially against location specific disruptive cards such as Alioth or Cosmo.

Overall, even if Chameleon carries a bit too many restrictions in my opinion, I feel like the card has enough upsides and synergies to see play. Plus, it is cheaper than Prodigy, so those without that Series 5 could find a cheaper replacement with the new Series 4.

Chameleon Decks

I don’t think the new 3-cost will end up any close to a metagame staple, but I have hope it can earn a spot, even if just as a support card in an archetype. Cerebro 3 is quite good at the moment, while Toxic is a playable synergy. I don’t expect the Thor and Beta Ray Bill to make a flamboyant comeback with Chameleon in the mix, but that’s another build I could see gain popularity just because it is pretty fun to play.

Toxic can also be built with Invisible Woman instead of Wiccan, as we saw in our latest ranked Tier List. Both cards synergize with Chameleon, allowing the card to be considered in both variants of the build.
