During the weekend, there is now one more set of Missions for players to complete: The Bonus Challenge! These involve additional rewards for winning games related to the week’s new card and the Season Pass card. These missions provide extra Collector’s Tokens, Gold, and Credits!
You need to win games with the card starting in your deck, and it does not count if the card was generated by cards such as Cable, Loki, and Maria Hill. Each of these reward amounts will vary depending on the difficulty of the mission. However, you don’t have to play the card during the course of the match for it to count, it just needs to be in your starting twelve!
There will be Bonus Challenge Missions available for each new card release to allow players to earn back Collector’s Tokens and subsidize their cost. Players can also expect the rewards to be stabilized at 200 Tokens to help them plan their token budget for the month.
Dark Avengers: Bonus Challenges – January 17, 2025
This week’s Bonus Challenge Missions are:
| Mission | # | Reward |
|---|---|---|
| Play Ongoing Cards | 15 | 150 Credits |
| Win with Moonstone starting in your Deck | 4 | 200 Collector’s Tokens |
| Win with Iron Patriot starting in your Deck | 8 | 150 Gold |

Most players will want to be efficient with these missions, so today we will give you a few different decks that incorporate all the cards featured each weekend. You can find the current best performing deck for each card down below, as well as some other options to match your collection or play style preferences.
We’ll also give you a short guide on how to get the most out of the decks and finish the missions quickly. First, let’s take a quick look at the new card’s performance this week.
For more information about the new card, make sure to check out our latest strategy guide on Moonstone as well:
Moonstone Performance

So far, things aren’t looking good for Moonstone (although both On Play metrics are quite decent). The On Draw metrics, however, are terrible. This means that when the new card is only in your hand and never played, the decks it’s in lose more often than win.
I would assume this is due to Moonstone being played in very synergistic decks that are looking to maximize the value of the 4-Cost. While it can create some fireworks when everything goes according to plan, there seems to be some reliability issues at the moment. I think Moonstone probably doesn’t need to be built around; instead, it’s a great support tool if your deck naturally meets her conditions.
I’m going to keep an eye on the card with the recent OTA, though, as the buff to both Mister Fantastic and Onslaught could help Moonstone‘s stock.
Post-Release Score:
Iron Patriot Performance

Iron Patriot looked like a true Season Pass card this week with the highest total meta presence in addition to some very good numbers to back it up.
Of course, there is a significant gap between the On Draw and On Play metrics, which indicates Iron Patriot really wants to be drawn and played on time to impact a match. Still, with a 58.5% Win Rate and 0.5 Cube Average when it does hit the board, Iron Patriot is following in the footsteps of the top tier Season Pass cards (Agent Venom, Surtur, and Galacta) that came before it.
Post-Release Score:
Top Pick
Iron Patriot can be played in virtually any deck at the moment, so there should be no trouble completing both missions at once this week again. You could probably even use a very similar deck to what you used last week to complete Victoria Hand‘s missions (unless the OTA ends up completely changing the dynamic of the meta).
Here’s a deck I built with the OTA in mind if you fancy testing the buffs in addition to completing your weekend missions.
This is a flexible shell, so feel free to play around with some of the cards. For example, Devil Dinosaur, Mystique, and Moon Girl could replace Frigga, Wiccan, and Onslaught for a different top end curve.
You could also lower the average cost by removing Onslaught for a card like Speed, Mirage, or Snowguard. Just make sure to stick to the theme of creating cards and using cheap Ongoing abilities and you should be fine.
Moonstone Decks
Considering you can make Iron Patriot work in tons of decks, here are some Moonstone specific decks that you can use to complete her missions separately.
Closing Thoughts
Moonstone hasn’t gotten off to a great start so far. Still, I believe the reason why is likely because she’s mostly been included in very synergistic, gimmicky kinds of decks that aren’t known for their reliability, such as The Living Tribunal and Patriot. Indeed, the card has solid results when mixed with the Big Hand archetype using Quinjet, Ant Man, and Victoria Hand as the best targets.
The recent OTA just buffed a few Ongoing cards, so maybe the more synergistic option will gain some momentum. I would make sure to pack Cosmo in those as an insurance policy, though.
As for Iron Patriot, the card is as stellar (as expected), even though it took a week to get there. At the moment, it is a staple inclusion in any deck that is able to fight for its location, which can be done by almost any deck that is able to run Juggernaut, Copycat, or some other great standalone card with for three energy or less.
Hopefully this guide helps you decide if you want the card prior to the missions coming out, as well as what you can play to complete the missions quickly!
Good Game Everyone.
