A New Hope

Hope Summers arrives to Marvel Snap as our newest great Season Pass card. She’s a must buy.

Deck Thoughts:
Arguably the best player ever in Marvel Snap, Lamby has a Thanos list that takes full advantage of Hope Summers.

This deck uses Hope as a way to cheat out 6-Cost cards, as a Hope Summers into a powerful 4-Cost like Cull Obsidian or with various cheaper cards can lead to explosive turns. The deck doesn’t lose the ability to cheat extra Energy either, with Psylocke or Time Stone, which can be used to get Hope Summers out early, and ramp into a 5 or 6. At any point in the game and with nearly any combination of cards, this deck is designed to cheat Energy.

The extra cards here are built to prevent the enemy from cheating – Mobius M. Mobius says no Energy cheat and Shang-Chi stops power cheat. Meanwhile, Jeff the Baby Land Shark, Vision, and Reality Stone give you all the extra trickery you need to steal Cubes.

Blob and Thanos are needed here, and all the top Thanos decks from now on will run Hope Summers and Cull Obsidian. Mobius M/ Mobius could be Caiera or Armor. Skaar can be She-Hulk, and at that point, Blob might as well be The Infinaut. Jeff the Baby Land Shark works as Nico Minoru or Nightcrawler.

Deck Thoughts:
Desmond is a Korean player and one of the most influential in Marvel Snap as a deck builder and a player.

Here, Desmond brings back Silky Smooth by using Hope Summers to cheat around the deck’s limitations. The purpose of the deck was to put out a lot of power while working around Shang-Chi, but as decks got better at cheating, Silk fell behind. Hope allows this deck to cheat, too, and since then, this has become a top meta deck again.

The idea here is to use lane fillers to grab extra Power – through Angela and Elsa Bloodstone, and in the process get extra Energy from Hope Summers. You can do this extra times thanks to Kitty Pryde and moving cards. Many versions of this deck go greedy on 6-Cost cards, using Magneto and/or Alioth with Doctor Doom, but this version of the deck instead opts for prevention with Shang-Chi and Mobius M Mobius.

Without Mobius, you can add one of the aforementioned six-cost cards. You’re going to need all the other high-series cards though.

Deck Thoughts:
ZalSnap is a brand new YouTube creator who was featured on Snap Judgments this week.

This deck, built to take advantage of Hope Summers, has a plethora of playlines. You can use Hope Summers and Wasp to get out Sera and control the whole game with Energy and cost reduction. You can go with Hope into Moon Girl, pass turn 5 and then drop two free She-Hulks. Or you can just use extra Energy to play more with Hit Monkey.

Because of a reliance on Quinjet, Sera, and She-Hulk, this can be weak to Mobius M. Mobius, but without that particular card (or, I guess, Sandman), this is just pure power.

You need Hit Monkey and Hope Summers here.

Where is my Mind?

Nowhere near as omnipresent as Hope Summers, the other card released this week has already proven to be both powerful and far more consistent than expected.

Deck Thoughts:
Our old friend Paper is back with a Pixie deck that feels like Patriot without the Patriot.

This control list is built to steal a lane with Valkyrie. That card is strong enough with very little support to beat nearly anything that isn’t ongoing, and thankfully, to help with that issue, we pack Rogue. The other lane is won by either Shang-Chi or using a combination of cards like Demon and Dazzler.

This can all get expensive, but Pixie allowing some of the really expensive stuff to cost 1 and thus be played with Shang-Chi or Valkyrie is stellar. When combined with Mobius, well, we have a Snap condition.

Mobius and Pixie are the only two high series cards here – you cannot replace either.

Deck Thoughts:
This deck from streamer Kapt Kerr has been one of my biggest climbers this season.

Pixie and Mobius, along with Jane Foster, can be backbreaking in tandem. Those cards let you do silly things like Arnim Zola and Black Panther in one turn or Wong, Odin, and a Hammer all together. Even without that, though, the Thors in combination with Odin is a ton of power, and an opponent who can’t interact with Wong/Black Panther, Arnim Zola is just dead.

If you don’t have Pixie and Mobius, you’re better off playing this Mister Negative deck. You need Beta Ray Bill for this one.

Darkhawk and Annihilus: Together Forever

Darkhawk and Annihilus were sometimes in the same deck before, but now? Their win rate has skyrocketed!

Deck Thoughts:
Ika is an absolutely stellar deck builder who often comes up with off-meta surprises. I used this one to get Infinite this Season.

The Darkhawk package and Annihilus package are completely insane together. They used to rely on Zabu, but now, instead, they just play big card after big card combined with both board and hand disruption from the cards that support Annihilus and Darkhawk respectively.

Now that Darkhawk is just huge, Cull Obsidian and Skaar, too, fit into his shell. Cull means you need one-drops, so Nico Minoru joins Korg and The Hood. That many big and tiny cards need protection, and so we have Armor and Cosmo, and now decks like Destroy or Negative that go over the top have a problem, and so, too do those that rely on Magik with Scarlet Witch present.

Every high Series card here is needed but Nico Minoru, who can be Iceman. You can also try Zero and Attuma for Cull Obsidian.

Deck Thoughts:
Meanwhile, Hope Summers has allowed Top 100 mainstay YoWoodyMJ to further develop his Bounce Darkhawk and have more Energy for its mean shenanigans.

The deck essentially does the same things as the last one, except instead of big dumb idiots, it runs Werewolf By Night and a Bounce package. That lets it go taller than the previous one and, potentially at least, have far more disruption. It’s an extremely powerful combination.

Werewolf, Annihilus and Darkhawk are needed. Hope could be Zabu or Psylocke. Any 1-cost card with a good On Reveal could replace Nico Minoru – try Maria Hill or even America Chavez.

Valkyrie is Good Again!?

With a meta full of huge cards and few Ongoing cards, Valkyrie is, once more, back on the menu. Plus, this section will make LaurenWhatevs happy!

Deck Thoughts:
Our friend and Twitter King Interrobang got sick of losing to Hela. This deck is the result.

Here, we can lock away locations with Professor X or just lock them from big cards with Goose. We can copy either with Mystique or use her with Iron Man for extra power. These cards all work exceptionally well with Ravonna Renslayer.

Beyond that, we just have stats. The 1-cost cards work great with Professor X or Black Swan, and, for this list, Cull Obsidian is just huge and easy to play. Wrapping things up we have Valkyrie, as every card in Hela lists and nearly every in current Thanos dies to that card. Add it all up and you have a deck that’s a blast to play!

Deck Thoughts: Royce Townsend came through with my favorite Cerebro 3 deck ever.

This list can win like Cerebro 3 always does, of course. Giving plus 2 to plus 4 to your whole board, making every 3 become 7, is often game-winning and back-breaking. There are some decks, like Loki, against whom that’s an auto-win.

Royce, however, has two other tricks up his sleeve. The first is pretty simple. Leech has 3 power. Leech draws a ton of retreats, shuts down huge decks like Hela, and protects your Limbo. The other card that steals games here is, of course, Valkyrie. And what’s better than one Valkyrie for 7 power? How about two with Grand Master.

You can try Absorbing Man for Grand Master here, and Jeff the Baby Land Shark can be a Sentinel.
