Best Marvel Snap Decks – Kickstarting The Amazing Spider-Season

Check out the best Marvel Snap decks in this column before they become popular in the meta! There are a lot of awesome decks waiting to be discovered that can take your opponent's Cubes by surprise!

Hello everyone and welcome to Best Marvel Snap Decks of the Week! I’m Glazer of Snap Judgments: The Official Marvel Snap Zone Podcast, and in this article, I’m going to take you through all of my favorite decks this week. In addition to the podcast, I do my own daily videos where I scour the darkest corners of the internet (ahem X and the various Marvel Snap sites) to find the best decks in Marvel Snap before the meta notices.

Remember: Each deck title will take you to a video explanation of the deck, so don’t be shy – check them out!

Top Class of the Metagame

The meta right now is ridiculously healthy. We have a ton of variety in what top players are using Let’s take a look at some amazing decks.

Deck Thoughts

Derek has been #1 for weeks with this list, and it’s no shock, since it has an answer for everything.

The meta is completely full of cost reduction and High Evolutionary nonsense using Abomination and Ajax as that decks power spike. Derek’s deck simply says, “No” to those, using Luke Cage and Mobius to answer them. Since this list was featured, Carnage was replaced with Killmonger – junk is pretty prevalent, but Killmonger still helps there, and zoo is having a bit of a resurgence, as well. This deck is a powerhouse at winning close games.

Unfortunately, Nico Minoru is the only high series card that’s replaceable here. That can be the Carnage + Killmonger spot, or you can just run Iceman.

Deck Thoughts

Formerly in the #2 spot and still hanging around top 5 is this stellar build from the great BBAK, #1 player in February and #2 in March.

This list is simple as heck – you use Mobius or Collector as a scaler, get some extra goodies from free Proxima and Swarms, then top it off with either Apocalypse or Helicarrier. This deck is shockingly versatile, able to put up 20-30 power in multiple lanes and even more in the Dracula one. MODOK is the real key card here – you can sort of play around everything else, but no MODOK often creates a situation where you’re left relying more on variance. Even so, this puts up so much power, it’s absurd.

For this list, Corvus Glaive can be Hellcow, especially once that card gets Activate in a day or two, while Proxima Midnight‘s only replacement is the far worse Wolverine.

Deck Thoughts:

The extremely accomplished Bu++ is back in the top 5 this season using a really strong Wiccan deck.

This list is simple – cheat Energy, play strong cards, win. The interaction here is limited – Viper for a Hood or opposing nonsense, and to combine with White Widow and Kate Bishop for some clog, Lady Deathstrike to ruin an opponent’s plans in one lane and sort of reset it on 5. Besides that, it’s just good tempo, Wiccan, and winning with Alioth.

Alioth is needed though; however, Emperor Hulkling is just better as Magneto. Speed, too, is just good stats. Feel free to try out Gladiator. Kitty Pryde and Jeff the Baby Land Shark can be Nightcrawler and Angela. Lady Deathstrike is awesome here, but given current meta changes, you can try out Shang-Chi.

Deck Thoughts

Wixie is just so freaking good. Ika is a brilliant deck builder and came up with this on day 1 of Wiccan‘s existence.

Pixie and Wiccan here can work together, shuffling costs with +2 energy is utterly OP, but the goal of the deck is to hit one of the two and then just leave your opponent no sure way of knowing your output. Sersi adds even more variability here, as 4 is often the safest spot to Sersi cards to, and there are a lot of threes to change in this deck. Finally, as discussed earlier – Mobius M. Mobius is just a game winner right now, and made even better when paired with Pixie.

Sasquatch should actually just be Magneto. Nico, Spider-Ham, White Widow are good cards. Iceman, Nightcrawler, Cable, or Mirage will be fine.

Deck Thoughts

Orsted’s The Phoenix Force is, ahem, a force to be reckoned with.

The Phoenix Force, very simple, puts out a lot of power, and it’s even better when combined with the Shuri and Nimrod package. The Attuma change has shown everyone how powerful and consistent that combo is, and when that’s the worse plan when compared to the often overpowered The Phoenix Force, the Cubes flow.

Hulkling has a ton of great hits, but can just be Iron Lad here. In a couple of weeks, Ghost-Spider can be Araña, but for now, the card is required.

Deck Thoughts

Zoo is just so good right now, and ItsGuestGaming rode this version to Infinite.

The interesting thing here is Marvel Boy is replacing Ka-Zar. If you have 1s, it ends up being a wash most of the time, but Marvel Boy is cheaper, and that change allows for a well-timed Caiera. The only meta-present counter for this deck is Killmonger, and Caiera turns that into a snap from the Zoo player, which is quite the turn of events. Besides that, we just have regular Zoo stuff. Go big and wide with Blue Marvel on 1s. Go tall with Gilgamesh. Win Cubes.

You can try Armor for Caiera, but you’ll lose some games. It’s probably easier to just run from destroy. Marvel Boy can be Ka-Zar and Iceman or Nightcrawler can be effective 1s in this list.

Deck Thoughts

The first of two Buddi decks, this is a hard-counter to the meta.

With a lot of destroy in the meta, Shadow King and Shang-Chi are amazing, particularly behind Invisible Woman. While competing on that axis, this deck has the ability to really put a ton of power out with the Black Knight package. Hulkling is shockingly good here, giving you an extra winning card or just becoming an 11 Power shard. This is the best this deck has felt since it was #1 in December.

Hulkling is just fine here as Magneto, as usual, or Red Hulk. Copycat can be Luke Cage, Cosmo, or any good 3-Cost cards. Sersi can be replaced with Sera or Cannonball.

Deck Thoughts

The second Buddii list here is absolutely awesome.

A descendant of the Blink + Leech decks of seasons past, this one uses a strong midrange power plan to compete with the top of the metagame. The idea here is to get out a Power 3, either Speed or Cassandra Nova in any game you don’t see Jubilee or Gwenpool and then go with Rockslide into Blink to get one of the key cards. Of course, you can also just play Rocks, Darkhawk and Red Hulk or Magneto to win. This is strong and consistent and easy to play. Give it a try!

Speed can be Gladiator here. Nebula is fine as Iceman here. Cassandra Nova can be Mobius, Red Guardian, or Polaris here. The rest are needed.

Deck Thoughts

Miter ELA came up with this absolutely incredible High Evolutionary list based entirely around the late game power spike and early game clog.

Early on with this deck, you’re just looking to be disruptive and limit the opponent’s space. White Widow and Debrii are great for that, but don’t forget you can use Mysterio or Hood with Viper, as well. Ideally this clog can lead to a board state where Hazmat on 5 can become Ajax, Abomination, and a Demon on 6 to win the game without the opponent having enough space to contest. Of course, you won’t see that whole draw every time, so you have Annihilus as a backup clog and Mockingbird as backup big power. It really is quite strong!

White Widow can be Kate Bishop here, but that’s kind of it. Cassandra Nova is fine as Cyclops or Scorpion, too. The rest is required.
