Jeff the Baby Dolphin Performance

The new Season Pass card is very popular across the entire ladder, but not getting a lot of love in the higher ranks. It is weird considering the amount of decks Jeff the Baby Dolphin can fit in.
Silver Surfer, Thanos, the Zombie Horde synergy… there is a wide variety of decks using the Sharkfin early in June. Maybe the problem is that Jeff the Baby Dolphin is just a good card, and not really an archetype maker.
To be fair, except for the Zombie Horde deck, all the others I mentioned were already in the competitive mix last season. The new 2-cost fit their bill, but they can play without Jeff the Baby Dolphin in the list as well.
Plus, even if the season pass fits many archetypes, it doesn’t belong in the top performing High Power decks, built around last season’s featured card.

Monstro Performance

Monstro is very scarce early in this new season, barely seeing play among players trying to climb back to Infinite, while the others aren’t using the 8-cost a top either. The metrics point at a decent card however, with both the win rate and average cube well above average.
To be fair, the card is mostly riding the momentum of the 10 power archetype, and a good fit in the War Machine Ramp deck. Both archetypes were strong performers before Monstro, and don’t seem to have improved with the card in the mix. As such, it is probably the new 8-cost card is good enough to compete for a spot, but overall isn’t impacting the Marvel Snap metagame much.
