And hello again! Today we’re doing a quick analysis of a rather mediocre bundle whose concept became outdated many patches ago. Let’s get started!
Yes, we’re looking at another boring bundle in the “3,000 Tokens for 3,500 Gold” format. And unlike the last such bundle – Darklight Duelist, here we don’t even see a variant for a Series 4 or Series 5 card as a possible bonus. Just 0.86 Tokens per Gold and a Series 3 card variant.
Comparison With Other Bundles
By Progress Value the picture’s standard – among bundles over the past year Abyss Strikes Back is barely holding at the average, and it’s noticeably below that when you look at bundles from the last 6 months.
By Progress Value in its price category the situation’s a bit different – Second Dinner release bundles for 3,500 Gold quite often and almost every one of them contains the same 3,000 Tokens. They’re pretty much the same, so yeah, the Progress Value here is average or a bit above average.
Finally, the most important metric – Total Tokens per Gold – reveals a harsh truth: the bundle’s Tokens per Gold value (or cards per Gold, whatever you prefer) sits well below average. So yeah, the value here is low.
Use cases for the Attuma variant
Because Attuma is nowhere to be found in the meta, i had to recall the decks he used to appear in! So a couple of options came to mind – Nightmare decks, which have lots of better replacement cards, and destroy decks, which also do perfectly fine without Attuma. So you really won’t be able to use this variant much anywhere, at least until a new card combo shows up or Attuma gets changed.
Conclusion
In the end we have a bundle that loses to almost any other current bundle (judging by the Tokens per Gold value) except the really bad ones, and a variant that can’t be used in any meta deck, not to mention it’s for a Series 3 card. Of course – if you like the cosmetics – buy it. But from a value standpoint it probably isn’t worth it.
Also, don’t forget that you can evaluate this bundle in comparison to others using a variety of different criteria, utilizing the special chart on the dedicated Abyss Strikes Back bundle page! Below is an updated guide on how to use our tools to evaluate bundles on your own.
