Ms. Marvel, Spectrum, and Captain Marvel Decks: Weekend Challenge Mission Guide

Our guide for the this week's set of Weekend Challenge Missions featuring Ms. Marvel, Spectrum, and Captain Marvel! Complete the missions efficiently using our decks, or find out how they are performing and decide if you want the card!

During the weekend, there is now one more set of Missions for players to complete: The Weekend Missions! These involve additional rewards for winning games related to the week’s new card and the Season Pass card. These missions provide extra Collector’s Tokens and Gold! This week’s Weekend Challenges are:

Mission#Reward
Win with Ms. Marvel starting in your Deck8150 Gold
Win with Spectrum starting in your Deck4200 Credits
Win with Captain Marvel starting in your Deck4100 Collector’s Tokens

You need to win games with the card starting in your deck, and it does not count if the card was generated by cards such as Cable, Loki, and Maria Hill. Each of these reward amounts will vary depending on the difficulty of the mission. There will be Weekly Missions available for each new card release. The goal of Weekly Missions is to allow players to earn back Collector’s Tokens from new cards and subsidize their cost.

The token missions are expected to differ from week to week, depending on the card. For example, three wins for 100 Collector’s Tokens, four wins for 300, and five wins for 500, depending on the week (1,000 Collector’s Tokens is on the highest end).

Most players will want to be efficient with these missions, so today we will give you three different decks that incorporate Ms. Marvel.

We’ll also give you a short guide on how to get the most out of the deck and finish the missions quickly, but first let’s take a quick look at the new card’s performance this week.

Performance

Ms. Marvel Meta Stats
Ms. Marvel Meta Stats

Ms. Marvel is the Season Pass card for our November Season, and she is here to make a difference to an Ongoing deck near you! She has a very unique deck building requirement which translates into being conscious of how you play every turn from the start of the game to avoid bricking the effect.

The pay off – 5 power to each adjacent lane which meets the condition. The condition at first glance is very strict, requiring every card in the adjacent location to have a unique base cost. Is this too strict of a condition? Or is it simply a minor inconvenience on your way to converting 4 Energy into 15 power?

It turns out the effect is more of a gameplay restriction than anything else. In practice, if you are conscious of how you are playing your cards out, you can activate the effect consistently. Playing your 1 drop to the left then a 2 drop to the right for example as your opening plays, allows you to start working towards the condition.

What may have been overlooked when considering how difficult she could be to play, was how easy some of the packages can also contest the lane Ms. Marvel is played into. Cards like Darkhawk for example, can be played with Ms. Marvel to contest the middle lane and still have the +5 power on the adjacent lanes.

Onslaught also turns the effect into a instant 10 power each lane and can be paired with Iron Man in the middle lane. The effect is almost too easy to activate in practice, with even Movement decks with cards like Silk being seen in the wild using the effect.

Lockdown is also improved significantly by the card. Professor X and Storm can now be backed up with a cheap card which helps push power into the location. These builds allow you to play less Ongoing cards and be a little more flexible than other Ms. Marvel decks. This is where her weakness lies – the card is very linear even if the pure power is high.

Just playing Echo on turn 1 in the middle location can be enough to throw a spanner in the game plan for any deck which wanted to rely on playing Ms. Marvel into the middle location. She can still get a lot of value on other locations, but often the decks are built with her being played in the middle location being the main objective.

Enchantress and Rogue, if allowed to connect, can really ruin your day also. So whilst the power level is on the high side, the counter play against this card is higher than some of the recent releases.

So, how do you use Ms. Marvel to rack up wins and complete the Weekend Challenge Missions?

Ms. Marvel synergizes really well with the Darkhawk package. Here she effectively replaces Doctor Doom and we have great cards to play onto the the locations to support the effect. We also can play Cosmo without hurting own deck significantly and reap the benefits of one of the biggest Cube stealers in Marvel Snap.

This deck is one of the stronger ways to play Ms. Marvel already and one that can compete across the field. One set of cards recommended to try is the Jeff the Baby Land Shark and Nightcrawler as they allow you to reallocate the power and activate the effect in lanes by themselves.

Ongoing as a package gets a major upgrade from Ms. Marvel and is an accessible way to play the card and one which packs a surprising punch. We have several cards which “go wide” here which we can double up on with Onslaught. This allows us to easily contest all three lanes, but can lead to being a small on individual lanes if you don’t commit a direction early enough.

The Lockdown archetype got a huge boost this week, with Ms. Marvel and the buff to Jessica Jones. Here we include several Movement cards to support the package and aim to lockdown left or right and use Ms. Marvel for reach into the lane later on to steal the win.

Spectrum and Captain Marvel

Although Ms. Marvel is the new card this week, the missions will also require us to play with Spectrum and Captain Marvel to complete all three of them.

Here are a few decks to explore with those cards included, so you can collect Gold, Credits and Tokens this weekend:
