Time Theater Featured Location Guide: Strategy, Best Cards and Decks

The best Marvel Snap decks and strategy guide for the Featured Location, Time Theatre: Copy the last card you drew instead of drawing your next card.

The Featured Location for the next 24 hours is Time Theater: Copy the last card you drew instead of drawing your next card. This is a new Location for Marvel Snap’s September 2023 Season, Loki For All Time, that starts on selected Wednesdays at 3 AM GMT. For 24 hours, it has a 50% chance of showing up in games.

Players who strategically build around the location or counter the decks that do so can have an advantage over their opponents! So what will you play?

Strategy and General Tips

Time Theater makes its official appearance in the game since its surprise introduction last month due to a Location misbehaving. And yes, this is another location which works perfectly with Loki and Quinjet.

The problem with this location is you bricking a draw. The majority of Marvel Snap decks, without luck of the specific draw on the turn this location flips, would prefer to draw another card. This effect of blocking a draw hurts more than it helps and creates a location which is anti-synergistic with most decks.

One deck that just wants more cards in hand and this additional card can buff your key cards like The Collector, is the Loki deck. The extra card ends up being another Loki card and that is extra power on your The Collector as well as another discounted card from your opponent. The best part for this location? That is even more likely to be a card they didn’t draw than usual for extra salt in the wound.

Location control doesn’t help as its an effect that occurs as it flips. One thing we can try if we don’t own Loki is try too copy cards we can use multiple of. Ravonna Renslayer and Zabu decks might be able to use this effect better than most. We can get these cards down early and if the deck is filled with 4-cost and low power cards we can potentially copy key cards like Darkhawk and play multiple of these on later turns.

Last way to play for the location is to go heavy into the synergies. Destroy decks can have 12 cards which often work well together and the extra copy of a Destroy effect or synergy cards like Wolverine can make for powerful consistent deck which isn’t negatively impacted by the location.

The new Mobius M. Mobius owners may be really happy about this as most of the decks which are worth considering for the location need to play for some kind of cost reductions.

Not much else to add about this deck at the moment. The location will benefit the deck as you can add more reduced cost cards and often will copy something which will buff your The Collector and synergize with keeping your hand full.

This is the key recommendation this week: Pick up your Loki deck and go. The counters will be less consistent due to the location and the location helps you get more cheap cards for you to play.

Bringing back an old favorite potentially for this one. We rely here on some cost reduction, but we can also play a good midrange strategy if we are shut down by an opposing Mobius M. Mobius, which will likely be able to counter opposing plays. This deck can also comfortably play Mobius and has some good targets at 4 cost for the location effect like Darkhawk, Iron Lad and even Shang-Chi.

Here we just want to Destroy as much as possible and play into the synergies. Very few cards here are bad to copy and almost any version of Destroy would be suitable for the location on a budget. This one has some highrolls if we can copy cards like X-23. Which leads to the bonus deck this week.

Here is the take on Destroy Mobius Wave. The key thing to keep in mind here is, if we can bring Death down to low enough with 6 Destroy effects we can play it alongside a 6 drop, however we also can use The Demon from The Hood as a potential pairing with Death or another card on turn 6. 6 power for 1 energy could also help in mirror situations against other Mobius decks.

Basic Devil Dinosaur deck is the recommendation with Series 2-only cards. Keeping a full hand and several cards which can play twice isn’t the worse play. Devil Dinosaur is the obvious highroll but even playing back to back White Tiger plays could be enough to win a lot of games of Marvel Snap.
