Good morning all! It’s Friday, so let’s do something special! I’m going to spend this article covering the Top 10 decks right now in Marvel Snap. On this site, you get the legendary den’s weekly Tier Lists, which are entirely data-driven. This will not be that. Let’s discuss what that is, but if you’d like a video on this list with full turn-by-turn guides and card replacements… this is the video for you!
This Tier List is my opinion based on top meta gameplay. Some viewers will ask, “if these are not top performing meta decks by the data, why should I care about them?” The answer is simple: the majority of decks proliferate downward from the top meta players. Most of the best deck builders are top meta players, and decks at that level are built to counter each other so the meta ends up spiraling downward through the Ladder.
These 10 decks are all Top Tier and presented in no particular order.
Finally, I’m not doing turn-by-turn breakdowns or card replacements for this article. If you’re interested in that (and two bonus decks), be sure to check out the video above!
The Top 10
1. Fudge Scream
There are two decks in Marvel Snap that are absolutely and without question Tier 1. Scream decks, in all their varieties, are one of those two. This deck from Fudge is influenced by last week’s Scream Connoisseur list, as Scream decks can now either be classic, all in on Scream and opponent movement, or hybrid tech decks built to beat the meta that the weekly release schedule creates.
Earlier this week, I argued that Scream was the best Marvel Snap card last month. The new season has done nothing to change that. Captain Carter introduced the dynamic of card placement to the game, a dynamic that makes the forced move of Scream decks even more powerful.
Scream could take a hit if a Luke Cage heavy meta were to become prominent, but until that or a nerf, this deck is going to stay atop Marvel Snap.
2. Coccia Bullseye
The second of our big three best decks, this is one card off the Day 1 Bullseye deck from Alexander Coccia. Bullseye decks have become insanely consistent. They can win in so many different ways!
First, if they discard Swarm, they have two victory patterns. They can double Bullseye with Frigga or play Bullseye and M.O.D.O.K., and with either of those your Morbius, the Collector, and Miek will all spike in power. That’s hard enough to deal with, but there’s more!
Daken into Frigga into Bullseye with Grand Master on Daken is utterly insane. On the last turn, the opponent can play Daken and trigger Bullseye, which creates two lanes with cards at 32 power.
If you aren’t getting smoked by Mobius M. Mobius every game, I think this is the new Hela.
3. Derek Thanos
Derek is currently in a war for first on the Infinite Leaderboard with the returning former rank 1 player Xunzzz. Derek has been playing this variety of Thanos. I’m not sure it’s better than the Control version, but both that and this Ongoing Zoo list are definitely top tier.
This version of Thanos forgoes Control to put out points using cheap cards. Four of Thanos‘s six Infinity Stones are Ongoing cards, so they buff up Goliath and are, in turn, buffed by Spectrum. Ultimately, that’s what this list is about—low-power cards that scale up to win games. Mockingbird, Speed, Sam Wilson, Dazzler, and Ant Man all get far bigger than their costs and far bigger than opponents expect, which allows this deck to steal cubes.
If you’re interested in that Control Thanos list, here’s the standard version:
4. Sizer Move Bounce
Sizer was #1 again in March, and it was with Bounce Move again.
The deck took a week long backseat when Firehair was everywhere since with her came Killmonger, making this annoying to play. The Ongoing meta coming on the heels of Khonshu has left Killmonger a distant memory. This is, once more, one of the best decks in Marvel Snap (although the skill required to play it often keeps its play rate down).
This deck is simple in concept. You have three scalers: Human Torch, Dagger, and Vulture. You use cards to move them so they grow, then you either bounce them to avoid tech cards, copy them with Frigga, or both. Rinse, repeat, win.
5. Galacta Midrange
Versions of Galacta Midrange were all over the meta last Season; they’re still great, but figuring out the right tech cards for it in a diverse meta has pushed the deck down a tier.
This version from our friend Bohe attempts to win through sheer greed. It has ALL the tech cards and scalers and just attempts to go over the top of opponents with them. In order to accomplish playing all of these cards, the deck uses not only Zabu and Agamotto‘s Bolts of Balthakk spell, but also Sera, a card you can even get out on Turn 3 with Quinjet and the aforementioned Bolts of Balthakk. It seems complicated, but a top tier Win and Cube Rate don’t lie. This remains a top deck.
If you want a simpler version, here’s Derek’s most recent brew:
6. Sauron Skaar
In last week’s video, I discussed the possibility that Sauron‘s buff to 2-Cost would bring back a version of the Skaar deck, and a week later this is one of the top Win Rate decks in Marvel Snap.
Sauron gives this deck access to a ton of powerful plays way ahead of curve. Because of its presence, you can play Ebony Maw, Starbrand, Typhoid Mary, and Red Skull without downside. If you miss Sauron, Enchantress works well enough for all but Maw, while also being the perfect tech card for this week.
The only card I’m not sold on here is actually Surtur. I believe Juggernaut or Shang-Chi may be better, but there’s nothing wrong with running a [3/9] while we figure that out.
7. HeartoftheCards Surfer
It’s entirely possible that this list belongs in Tier 1, but I lack confidence that we’ve found the perfect version. Heart of the Cards, in the top 10, is the highest rank with this list, but both Smlz and KM Best’s versions have a real claim.
Surfer is in a great place and that is unlikely to change. So many of the game’s best tech cards are 3-Costs that it can get a positive match up into anything without sacrificing power due to Galacta and Silver Surfer himself. If you have a problem with Negative decks, for example, Mobius M. Mobius is a 3-Cost. If Discard annoys you, Red Guardian is also a 3-Cost. When we one day get an On Reveal meta, Cosmo will fit in too. That plus power makes Surfer a meta force.
8. Xenaid Double Sauron
Speaking of Sauron, this list from Xenaid, a pure Sauron Enjoyer, has taken the Ladder by storm.
By combining Moon Girl and Sauron, this list puts out power similar to previous Hit-Monkey versions of this archetype, but without any extra shenanigans or needing Black Swan. Endgame plays often end up with at least one She-Hulk, Starbrand, and Shang-Chi, along with a bunch of extra things. Luna Snow lets She-Hulk get down to zero and allows a 4-Cost + 3-Cost on the final turn, and that really takes this deck over the top. If you’re interested in seeing it go off, check out this great video:
9. PulseGlazer’s Doom 2099going
I’ve been updating this list that I basically never play since they buffed Spectrum and each time a new card comes out for it, and each update has left the deck meta-relevant.
This is, right now, probably the safest Captain Carter home. The deck is hurt by (but doesn’t die to) Enchantress and Super-Skrull, while Goliath and Captain Carter make up the extra power. It’s really simple to win with by playing one card a turn, and it has an alternative win condition using Captain America, Sam Wilson, and Captain Carter as a Power engine. Nothing fancy, but this is pretty effective.
10. Crazy Khonshu Discard
Crazy has the most successful Khonshu deck, as he’s in the top 10 with classic discard.
Khonshu is really additive to this list—it can absolutely go over the top with the regular Dracula/Morbius plays. Classic Discard was not bad in the recent meta, but Bullseye being better sort of took its spotlight. Khonshu has been built around in many different ways, but if you’re discarding, whether that’s with the Bullseye list at the top or this, it’s such an obvious add. It just takes a cheap card and turns it to 12 in the lists, often giving an extra discard in the process and adding an extra card in hand to be discarded multiple times. It’s just a natural fit!
That’s this week’s top 10 decks. Please check back daily for more articles and the YouTube for at least one video every day!
