Good morning all! I’m back at Marvel Snap Zone with a deck of the day: a top deck for you to try out! My aim for this article is to get you in and out quickly and give you something new to play every day along with the tools to do well with it. Check out the video for a verbal explanation of this and three other new decks.

The new season pass in Marvel Snap is Zombie Scarlet Witch, and she’s quite reminiscent of a character we’ve seen before – Angela. Old Angela was a 2-0 that got +2 for each card played on her. For Zombie Scarlet Witch, she adds a Zombie Horde, a 0-2 that grows by 2 each whenever you play a card in her lane. Angela was one of the best cards in the game, especially when paired with moving or bouncing cards like Kitty Pryde, and we never saw Angela was skills, so Zombie SW should be great, right?
No, I don’t think so. The game has experienced an absolute ton of power creep since the days of Angela, and with the recent Shang Chi nerf, we’re in the highest power enviornment ever in Marvel Snap. Zombie Scarlet Witch seems decent, but the change from Angela, a 2 in a favorable enviorment (big power that usually dodged Shang Chi) to a 3 that sits on the board vulernable (Shadow King is fairly prominent) is hard to overstate.
The best home likely for this deck is the cook, the Sasquatch Mockingbird deck. Zombie Scarlet Witch has some upside here since the horde will make Mockingbird cheaper, but this deck may need Zombie Mister Fantastic for it to really sing, and that’s not out for another week.
As a standalone card, I’m not sold on ZSW, nor does Zombie Giant Man change my perspective. Still, we get more Horde cards next week, so perhaps something can be made of it when they all come togehter.
Again, I kind of doubt it. This is the first season where buying the Season Pass card on the Marvel Snap Web Shop comes with a free Series 5 Snap Pack. I submit that isn’t accidental, and that change here is meant to push us towards buying a card that’s good, but not great or exciting.
