Snap Judgments Deck of the Day: Where did all the Agamotto Go?

Good morning all! I’m back at Marvel Snap Zone with a deck of the day: a top deck for you to try out! My aim for this article is to get you in and out quickly and give you something new to play every day along with the tools to do well with it. Check out the video for a verbal explanation of this and three other new decks.

During its season, Agamotto was considered the class of the meta. Season Passler style decks (created by new Marvel Snap Golden Guantlet Champion Derek) were all the rage, being among the most popular and winningest decks in the game, but when the Captain Carter season started, without warning, Agamotto just disappeared.

Roram, however, remained a fan, and created a new meta version of the archetype. While it isn’t as good overall as Thanos – the best and most consistent deck in Marvel Snap – it can compete at that level, a huge boon for the meta.

Season Passler decks are built around two of Agamotto’s spells and two former Season Pass cards. Galacta and Gwenpool are the best 4-Cost scalers in Marvel Snap. Their ability turns low powered cards into unpredicable high power at various locations. That they both cost 4 can make them difficult to play together, but with Bolts of Balthaak (and a backup of Surge) that gets far easier.

Of course, you don’t need to play both if you can get multiple copies of one, and that’s where we come to Images of Ikkon. Using cheap early plays like Eitri, Kate Bishop’s Arrows, and Sam Wilson’s shield, getting a triple Galacta or Gwenpool is backbreaking for the opponent.

The rest of the deck is built around control and unpredictability. The opponent will simply have a ton to play around between Agamotto’s spells, Kate Bishop’s Arrows, Copycat’s Copy, Iron Patriot’s card, Surge’s power and cost changing, and, of course, unclear amounts of power from the aforementioned combos – the opponent can be stuck with decision paralysis. As they try to play around all of that, they can get killed by Neagonic Teenage Warhead, stopped by Cosmo, or clogged with Juggernaut. There’s just so much to do here that the opponent can’t predict – this is one of the best cube rate decks in all of Marvel Snap.
