Snap Judgments Deck of the Day: Use Thanos (Destroy) to Kill Thanos!

Good morning all! I’m back at Marvel Snap Zone with a deck of the day: a top deck for you to try out! My aim for this article is to get you in and out quickly and give you something new to play every day along with the tools to do well with it. Thanos Destroy has long been known to be a very good way to beat other Thanos decks, but finding consistency in other matchups has been its problem, My friend, great streamer, and top 100 player ToxicSoulKing seems to have solved the issue, managing a 71% win rate in 30 games with the deck.

The trick seems to have been not going too all-in with the destroy. Killmonger is an amazing tech card right now – it can totally blow up the board of an opposing Thanos, move, or Victoria Hand player, so using it as your only cheap destroy makes sense – it gets rid of all the stones in one shot and, with Firehair, can lead to a ton of draw.

That extra draw is one of the major points of this deck. You want to get out a Mockingbird for cheap while the stones are still there, then destroy a bunch and draw into a free/nearly free Death – ideally also with a couple of Demons from the Hood and Firehair copying it.

The other destroy cards in the deck are Misery – a card which basically works as Firehair for your 1s – drawing you what you need, and Lady Deathstrike. The latter card can be clunky, but Mobius M Mobius is a bit of a nightmare for this deck, and eating him puts you way ahead.

Finally, we need a way to play all this stuff – the deck is heavy, so it runs three ramp cards. Surge helps you get out stones and your big cards early, while Luna Snow and Wiccan are just pure ramp. Ramp usually is good, but limited in Thanos thanks to board space issues, but destroy cleans up that space so as to not have that concern.

5. Turn 5: LDS/Misery… Monger and Stones
6. Turn 6: Death/Thanos
