Sleeper Decks of the Week – Ghost Meta, Beta Ray Bill, and More Good Stuff!

Check out the best Marvel Snap decks in this column before they become popular in the meta! There are a lot of awesome decks waiting to be discovered that can take your opponent's Cubes by surprise!

Hello everyone and welcome to Sleeper Decks of the Week! I’m Glazer of Snap Judgments: The Official Marvel Snap Zone Podcast, and in this article, I’m going to take you through all of my favorite Sleeper Decks this week. In addition to the podcast (this week’s episode has a wishlist for new Snap features with LaurenWhatevs and Shneerp!), I do my own daily videos where I scour the darkest corners of the net (ahem Twitter and the various Marvel Snap sites) to find the best decks in Marvel Snap before the meta notices.

Remember: Each deck title will take you to a video explanation of the deck, so don’t be shy – check them out!

Ghost is in Meta Decks!

Ghost becoming a [3/5] has placed her into several prominent meta decks. Who’d have guessed that!?

Deck Thoughts:
The best player in the game has moved off Loki and Thanos and onto Sera control!

This is based on the Revis version that gained fame after the Cozy controversy and has taken shape with Ghost’s recent buff. The Ghost change allows the deck to play far more consistently. The deck used to have to work extremely hard to throw priority, but Ghost handles that.

Now, the early game can focus on points with numerous cards, most notably Ms. Marvel basically guaranteeing priority if her ability is on. That no longer contrasts with Shadow King, Shang-Chi, or Enchantress. Zabu and Sera make this all come together – either one is game-winning, and both are just OP.

Zabu and Ms. Marvel are needed here. Jeff can be Lizard or Medusa. Gladiator is fine as Polaris or Legion. Mobius would be Quake or Scarlett Witch.

Deck Thoughts:
Marvel Snap Zone’s own genius deck-builder SafetyBlade figured out the perfect home for Beta Ray Bill AND Ghost.

This deck uses Ghost in two ways, getting awesome usage out of the suddenly powerful card. Obviously, like the previous deck, Ghost can enable Shang-Chi and Enchantress, but the card here doubles as protection against Shang or Shadow King since you’ll be revealing the hammers, which put your Beta Ray Bill or Thor in range of those cards last.

With only Zabu and not Sera, this, too manages to be stronger into opposing Mobius M Mobius while being able to still run that card. This is a very, very strong deck.

You need Beta Ray Bill and Zabu to play it, but Mobius M Mobius can be Killmonger, and with more power, Ms. Marvel is less of a must. I’d replace her still with Iron Lad, but Jubilee is fine, too.

Beta Ray Bill

While not necessarily meta, Beta Ray Bill fits in a ton of decks because he’s created a three-card package with Thor and Jane Foster Mighty Thor.

Deck Thoughts:
Eva, a Brazilian player usually in the top 10, missed a ton of time this season, then came back with this beast of a deck.

This is a pure tempo deck, able to output crazy amounts of power in totally unexpected ways. There’s no real counter to most of this deck. It plays good cards on rate that are hard to deal with. As the power builds, there’s just so much to play around. Do you play around Legion ruining locations or Doctor Doom‘s 15 power or Magneto moving your cards?

And as you do so, cards like Thor and Beta Ray Bill get huge. And all of this is without considering the numerous problems Grand Master creates for opponents, from double Shang-Chi to double Stormbreaker!

You’ll need Bill for this, but Mobius, Jeff, Nico and Grand Master are all just good cards here. Try Ghost, Medusa, Iceman, and Quake!

Deck Thoughts:
ZalSnap is an excellent newer creator that you should all check out on YouTube.

I’ve loved this deck, though it is fairly reliant on Lockjaw. It can win otherwise, as either Thor or Beta Ray with an early hammer enables silly Skaar plays. There’s nothing very much more complicated than those two playlines here. Still, if you play to your outs, this deck is super strong.

You need Thanos and Bill and Skaar, but Caiera can be Armor!

Deck Thoughts:
Cables is an awesome creator on a bit of a hiatus and immediately rolled to an Infinity border with this bounce build.

This deck does a bit of everything! Get some Thors alone and win with Grand Master or use the hammers to power up Werewolf By Night or Hit Monkey. Spider-Ham, Iceman, and Enchantress give the deck control, and Zabu is the perfect kitty rug, tying the room together.

Zabu is needed, but you can kind of do without Werewolf or Hit Monkey. Without Werewolf, just add Mysterio. Without Hit Monkey, you add another 1-cost On Reveal like Korg. Grand Master may be better as Nico Minoru or Yellowjacket, and the same idea for Spider-Ham, and let’s add The Hood as another potential change. This is built for Bill.

Deck Thoughts:
I don’t know who made this one, but it’s one of my favorite decks right now.

Darkhawk is back to the best package in the game with the nerf to Blob, so that’s here, and then none of those cards really matter on board except Darkhawk, so they go great with Lockjaw. Well, Lockjaw just got a whole new super-strong Thors package… and here we are!

This deck has so many plays! Odin on a Rockslide or Korg and a hammer is a ton of power. Doom coming out of Lockjaw is amazing, but so is a well-timed Jane! There’s so much to do here!

You need all the high-series stuff in this one.

Miscellaneous Decks

These decks don’t fit into one of the other categories, but don’t sleep on them because of that!

Deck Thoughts:
Demond is an absolute beast at Marvel Snap and always sits comfortably in the top 100.

This right here is a wildly strong Loki deck. It’s got all the usual early game – Loki and Zabu are married at this point – and the tech cards around it are absolutely stellar. Ongoing, On Reveals, cost reduction, and big power all die to this deck while your opponent is still forced to play around the crazy power of Loki.

Loki and Zabu are musts. Mobius can be Ghost or Quake. Mirage can be Sentinel, and Snowguard can become Maria Hill.

Deck Thoughts:
Shuri Enjoyer is sitting in the Top 5 of the Infinite leaderboard.

This is mostly a standard Shuri Red Skull deck – not a shock from someone named Shuri Enjoyer, but the twist here is an Annihilus package. That opens up plays like Shuri into Sentry into Annihilus, which is just obnoxious to beat, and going for Taskmaster on a regular old Sentry is really good stats, too.

You’ll need the Annihilus for this version, but everything else is Series 3.

Deck Thoughts:
Youtuber Chaos Pro decided to be really mean with last week’s new card, Grand Master.

Not only can Grand Master, in this deck, give extra rocks or another Widow's Bite, but it can on turn 4 absolutely fill a hand with Sentinels. That amount of disruption combines with the game winners, Ronan, Darkhawk, and Mystique to be actively dominant.

Sera with Shang-Chi in a Zabu deck is another powerful piece, as this deck never runs out of ways to make its opponent’s life hell.

You need Zabu and Grand Master for this deck. Darkhawk is pivotal, too, but Iron Lad can be either Jubilee or Absorbing Man.

Deck Thoughts:
Royce Townsend’s Galactus is just an absolutely brilliant build. Destroy comes with a lot of power, and with power is great tempo that allows this to win with or without Galactus.

A sneaky Galactus, too, often loses priority, but with Wolverine and X-23, that’s far less of an issue. X-23 also combines with Wave as a second way to cheat out Galactus early for the win. Of course, winning a lane with cards like Bucky Barnes, Carnage, and Venom is still a thing, and when it is, that Alioth is backbreaking!

You need X-23, Galactus, and Alioth, but Nico Minoru could be a simple good card like Yondu.
