Seasons come and go, but one thing remains the same – bundles with 3,000 Collector’s Tokens for 3,500 Gold. Today, we have just such a bundle in front of us. Let’s analyze its position in the current Marvel Snap economy and see if it’s worth it.
By the numbers, everything is as usual. 0.86 Collector’s Tokens for gold at a price of 3,500 gold gives a 112% Progress Value, which is 375 Tokens more than when purchasing them in the token shop. As for cosmetics, a variant for Nebula is nice, but she isn’t a high-series card, so she can be seen mostly as cosmetics for most players.
And for this, you need to pay as much Gold as a player earns for a whole season when buying a Season Pass. The value doesn’t seem particularly high for today, especially considering the frequent bundles with Series 4 and Series 5 cards, as well as bundles with significantly higher value.
Let’s take a look at how the bundle performs in comparison to other bundles.
Comparison With Other Bundles
In terms of Progress Value, the bundle barely reaches the average among all bundles for Gold over the past year and falls well below average when looking at bundles from the last 6 months. This is even without considering bundles with hidden value in the form of high-series cards for some players.
In its price category, the bundle, while holding up slightly better, is still around the average when compared to bundles from the past 12 months and falls below average when looking at the past 6 months due to one bundle – Sorcerer’s Purr-entice, which offered much more value because of the huge amount of Credits it contained, at the same price.
With all the other identical bundles featuring Collector’s Tokens for the same price of 3,500 Gold, the Poised for Piracy bundle is certainly on par, as they follow the same formula.
The most important metric of the total number of Tokens for Gold shows that while the bundle looks relatively good among the bundles over the last year, it’s at an absolute low among the bundles over the past six months.
This is because with the latest economic changes, the numbers have shifted significantly, leading to a drop in the value of Collector’s Tokens and a substantial increase in the value of Credits, which provide a huge amount of Collector’s Tokens on their own thanks to the CL track.
So in most cases, it’s more beneficial to buy bundles with Credits, as they will provide more Tokens even with a small increase in Progress Value vs the Poised for Piracy or similar bundles.
Here are two examples: Credits when purchased in the shop (100% Progress Value) and the incredible Booster Packs available every Saturday (133% Progress Value).
As you can see, even Credits bought in the regular shop will yield almost as many Tokens for Gold as the considered bundle (0.82 vs. 0.86).
When purchasing booster packs, the value increases to a whopping 1.1 Tokens per Gold!
So, as counterintuitive as it sounds, if you want more Tokens, buy bundles with Credits. The bundles with Tokens, like Poised for Piracy, are only suitable for quickly obtaining Tokens, but not for profitability.
The Usefulness of the Variant in the Meta
When it comes to decks where you could use Nebula, there are very few, and they aren’t particularly strong. Among the latest decks, which are only experimental and not particularly strong in the meta, there are only Agatha Discard and Surge Lockdown.
As a decent budget option featuring Nebula, I can suggest this High Evo deck, which has only 3 Series 3 cards, including Nebula, and the only Series 5 card – High Evolutionary.
Conclusion
In the end, I don’t consider this bundle good.
The formula “3,000 Collector’s Tokens for 3,500 Gold” has become so repetitive and boring that it has survived several economies and in the current realities isn’t as solid as it once was. Such bundles have never been the best, but they offered quite good value for occasional spending, and now this space is taken by Booster Packs and other bundles with Credits, not to mention bundles with Series 4 and Series 5 cards.
Therefore, I recommend avoiding this bundle, which has fallen victim to the increase in bundles’ value, and opting for other options that will provide you with more resources for the same cost. For example, from June 7 to June 8, a Booster Pack with 1,000 Credits will be available, and just over a month later, we expect to see a cheap bundle with Credits and Agent Venom.
In turn, Poised for Piracy is only suitable for those who want to buy the needed card in the shop right now, as receiving it even a week later isn’t acceptable.
Also, don’t forget that you can evaluate this bundle in comparison to others using a variety of different criteria, utilizing the special chart on the dedicated Poised for Piracy bundle page! Below is an updated guide on how to use our tools to evaluate bundles on your own.
