Master of Curiosities bundle Guide – Details and Analysis

Buyer's guide to the Master of Curiosities Marvel Snap Bundle with details and analysis. How good is it in comparison to other bundles?

Ten days after the end of the Inner Peace bundle, we get a rather expensive bundle with two Spotlight Caches. How valuable is it, and should we once again ignore the keys? Let’s find out.

Guide

The first thing that catches the eye when looking at the bundle is the high price of 6,500 Gold and an unusually decent Progress Value of 112%, which was not typical for bundles with Spotlight Caches before.

For comparison, to get the same two Spotlight Keys, you would need to spend 9,692 Credits or 7,754 Gold at the most favorable calculation, which is 1,254 Gold more than the cost of the bundle. Thus, saying that it’s easier to buy Credits and get the same number of keys is incorrect.

Nevertheless, even with such a decent value, it’s worth considering that the period with boosted split rates is still ongoing, which means you might want to prioritize purchasing Credits to gain more cosmetic value. And, as is known, Credits will give you a bit more cosmetics in Collector’s Reserves.

Comparison With Other Bundles

In the first chart, we can see that only three bundles for Gold in the last six months have a higher Progress Value than the Master of Curiosities bundle. These are the identical Void Claw Vengeance and Pryde Before the Fall, as well as the benchmark for a good bundle, Glows to the Chest.

In the second chart, you can see all the bundles in the price range of around 5,000-7,500 Gold, and here, Master of Curiosities certainly loses to the bundles from the old era of excellent bundles but surpasses all recent bundles in this price category, only falling short of Glows to the Chest.

Two keys, considering the chance for Tokens, will on average give a player with an almost complete collection (i.e., in the least favorable case) 0.87 new Series 5 cards. This, when compared with other bundles over different time frames, gives the Master of Curiosities bundle a good result of 0.09 Series 5 cards per 700 Gold.

However, if your collection is still far from complete, keys, in contrast to Tokens, hold more value, and given the bundle’s Progress Value, purchasing it could be a solid decision in the long term.

So if you’re not opposed to pure but slightly random progress at a favorable price, this bundle might be suitable for you.

The Usefulness Of The Variant In The Meta

Unfortunately, the variant doesn’t have any particular advantages, as Collector is a Pool 2 card and therefore doesn’t provide an advantage in the number of cards by itself. So, let’s consider how well it fits into the current meta.

In the current meta, the only deck archetype that effectively utilizes Collector is Discard, which generates new cards like Swarm and Apocalypse in hand to trigger the Collector’s effect. This deck is quite decent, so you’ll have the opportunity to include the new variant in your deck and show it off.

Conclusion

At first glance, I wanted to give the bundle 2 stars because it’s known in the community that bundles with keys are bad. But if you set aside prejudices and evaluate the bundle on its own, considering its value, it’s not that bad at all.

When compared to the previous Inner Peace bundle, that bundle had two advantages over the Master of Curiosities: price and Credits, which provide more good splits during the boosted split rates period. The bundle in question is more expensive, offers a different set of cosmetics, but is mathematically much more advantageous.

Therefore, I believe Master of Curiosities also deserves 3 stars. It’s not as good as the 4- and 5-star bundles like Pryde Before the Fall and Glows to the Chest, but it’s significantly better than bundles like Dreams Come True and I Am Iron Groot.

Thus, this bundle is worth considering for those who want to acquire more cards in the long run and aren’t particularly interested in getting extra good splits during their boosted period. Additionally, the bundle will be of interest to players with a collection that is far from complete, as both keys could then become cards with a much higher probability.
