Nerfs

Now a [3/3]
Typically, the End of Turn deck doesn’t need Invisible Woman First Steps to contribute with her power, but her ability. Then, this nerf probably won’t affect the locations coveted by the deck that much.
However, it will make the weakest location of End of Turn even easier to win for the opponent, possibly giving them more agency to come fight for another one.

Now a [3/4]
A nerf we already saw last month, except Shadow King was a [3/3] back then. This is a big change, as tech cards tend to rely on being as flexible as possible to see play in a multitude of decks.
I feel like Shadow King’s popularity will heavily depend on the impact of the buffs to the Horde cards. Indeed, the now 3-cost is considered the counter to that synergy, so it will see play if this season’s theme starts to be dominant.

From a real power standpoint, this is not an impactful change in my opinion, as the likes of Mister Negative will keep being hard countered by a [3/3] Mobius M. Mobius. However, it is possible the card will not be a staple inclusion any more, and only come out when decks looking to cheat energy are popular.
Warlock was buffed in this OTA, so keep your Mobius M. Mobius close.
Buffs

Now a [3/4]
I feel like the card was fine as a [3/2] and mostly needed more support, or reasons to play the Horde synergy. I guess Second Dinner was not willing to wait for all the cards to release, and wants to give us a reason to play the Zombie Horde crew immediately.

Now a [5/4] with Horde +2
This one felt really weak, but once again, it might be due to a lack of tools available in the game to grow our Zombie Horde. Now a 5/6 on its own, Zombie Giant Man grows to a [5/9] with Zombie Mister Fantastic and a high end 5-cost with Zombie Scarlet Witch.
Combined with Shadow King nerfed, they really gave us a lot of reasons to give the Zombie Horde synergy another try.
Now a [3/3]
The Ongoing synergy hasn’t been very popular as of late, which explains why Rogue might not have great numbers. However, the card is always ready to burst out whenever Iron Man, Victoria Hand or another strong Ongoing ability starts to dominate.
This buffs feels more like a nerf to the Ongoing synergy, maybe to mitigate the chance to Enchantress becoming a 5-cost last month.

Now a [4/7]
Definitely deserved, as Firelord has been a non-factor since its release.

Now a [3/4]
Warlock has been quite a big disappointment for many who envisioned the card alongside She-Hulk or Jocasta. This extra power, plus the one taken from Mobius M. Mobius will for sure help the card.
New Decks
None of those decks had even decent numbers heading into this OTA, but this OTA is quite a big boost for most of them, Firelord being the exception.
With that said, I’m curious to test the potential of the Zombie Horde more than anything. Indeed, I don’t think the changes to Warlock or Mobius M. Mobius will change the fortune of those cards that much, even if it should affect their popularity, at least for a few days after the OTA.
Closing Words
Overall, this OTA is mostly a change to the Zombie Horde cards alongside changes to make room for the latest releases to have a favourable environment. At first, I believe it will be the case, as every one loves a bit of novelty.
However, if Zombie Scarlet Witch and her crew happens to be dominant, I expect Shadow King to come back quickly, even as a 3-cost. The same could be said for the interaction between Warlock and Mobius M. Mobius.
That’s it for this OTA review. You can find everyone from the Marvel Snap Zone team in our community discord, alongside plenty of people to share your excitement about those changes.
Good Game Everyone!
