Jane Foster

Jane Foster – Best Decks, Builds, and Card Analysis

Jane Foster is one of the newest cards added to Marvel Snap and she was given out for free to every player as part of the Nexus Event compensation. If you’re wondering how you can get the most out of Jane Foster, look no further as I’m going to break down a couple of the key decks that can utilize this powerful card.

Jane Foster: The Mighty Thor

Jane Foster is a 5/8 powerhouse making her one of the strongest 5 energy cards in the game in terms of power. Jane Foster’s effect limits her playability to a few key deck types. There are only a few 0-cost cards in the game so the deck needs to either create 0-cost cards or utilize one of the two 0-cost cards currently in the game. The main synergies that we’ll be looking at today utilize Thor and Mister Negative to create 0-cost cards in the deck.

The first deck that we’re looking at is the deck that I’ve run the most and have the most success with. This deck utilizes Lockjaw and Odin in order to bounce Mjolnir in and out of the deck to make Thor as strong as possible while also dropping some heavy hitting giants in Magneto, Giganto, and The Infinaut. Jane Foster offers an additional source to find the Mjolnir that Thor generates in the deck.

Playing Jane right after Thor is the perfect follow-up offering not only a respectable 8 power on the board, but guaranteeing an additional +6 power on your Thor (+12 if you’re also following up with Odin). Jane Foster only has 2 targets to draw in this deck being Wasp and Mjolnir. Both cards are great plays onto Lockjaw, giving a free chance to swap into one of the included “giants” of the deck.

This deck comes with two win conditions in Lockjaw pulling out large units and Thor’s huge scaling. In games where you don’t draw Lockjaw early, Thor + Jane Foster offer a great plan to close out a game. Lockjaw draws later in the game are still quite strong with the ability to play Lockjaw + Wasp + Mjolnir + any 3 or lower cost card to swap out into potential giants or multiple Mjolnir + Ironheart ability activations if played in proper order.

Mister Negative is another great combo piece for Jane Foster in this build from WillowSnapping. Mister Negative swaps the cost and power of all cards in your deck, meaning any card that has 0 power now becomes a 0-cost draw for Jane Foster. This deck also features Thor as a fallback win condition for when you don’t draw Mister Negative.

Ideally, you play Psylocke into Thor or Mister Negative while Jane Foster is in your hand. Jane Foster can consistently allow you to draw your entire deck in this build. Having access to all 12 cards in your deck is something that is quite rare in Marvel Snap, giving this deck an great advantage in most scenarios.

Playing Mister Negative before drawing Jane makes Jane a dead draw because her cost becomes 8, though with the other cards remaining in the deck like Iron Man and Arnim Zola, you can still pull out some victories.

The Verdict on Jane Foster

Jane Foster is a solid card that has a limited number of synergies, but where does have synergies, she shines. Jane Foster creates opportunities for deck experimentation and certainly has a place in Marvel Snap as a card that can be built around to great effect. Any new cards in the future that cost 0 energy will have an immediate effect on the discussion around Jane Foster.
