The Power Couples event has changed plenty of Marvel Snap cards’ power for the week, which naturally impacted their relative strength in the current metagame. Loki in particular, has gained a lot from this event, abusing the Agent 13 and Captain America Power Couple to return to a dominant status.
This event was the perfect occasion to discuss how a card is regarded by the community, alongside how just a couple of power can make a huge difference in how we consider it. During this week’s Marvel Snap Zone Coaching session, the crew laid out the various factors we look at in a card, discussion the visible and invisible metrics a card possesses. For example, what is the expected power for each cost, or how much does the simplicity of the ability impact whether a card has a chance to see play or not.
In the end, this is where we got, with a special emphasis on the surroundings of a card, as the available synergies and the current metagame seem to be the defining factors for a card to find success.

If you enjoy game design, or simply struggle to know if you should go after certain cards in the Spotlight Caches, you can definitely learn a thing or two from this coaching session. You can also join in on the action, as any Premium member on Marvel Snap Zone can join the coaching sessions for free.
Don’t worry about your level, we welcome all kinds of players, and the decks we play during the gameplay part are also widely different. For example, alongside Loki, we also tested one of the Silent Performers from the last tier list: On Reveal Silver Surfer, another deck based on the Power Couples event:
