What do we have here.. a cheap bundle with a great Series 5 card that was released just recently? It looks interesting, but can the Heads Up! impress us with something other than the card?
And it seems the answer to this question is no.
At a price of 3,500 Gold, the bundle contains 4,500 Credits, which seems like a big number, but in practice it’s only 3% better than the standard shop, where for 3,500 Gold you’d get 125 Credits less – 4,375 in total. Besides, the bundle has a very modest Total Tokens per Gold value – only 0.84, while the minimum recommended value for a purchase is 0.9 Total Tokens per Gold.
Comparison With Other Bundles
The charts also show a truly staggering picture – this is simply the worst bundle over the last year in terms of Progress Value, there just hasn’t been anything worse.
It’s also at the bottom of the rankings for the last six months.
If you look at bundles in a similar price category, you’ll see that there have been only 5 Gold bundles in the entire history of Marvel Snap since Spotlight Caches were introduced that were worse than the Heads Up! bundle in terms of Progress Value. And all of them were released between October 2023 and August 2024 when it was the norm for bundles at that price.
Now, as you can see on the chart for the last 6 months, this is nonsense and the worst result.
And by the most important metric – Total Tokens per Gold – some poor decisions from Second Dinner over the last six months save this bundle from being titled the absolute worst.
If it weren’t for bundles like Shadow Flame Warrior, Fool Moon Fury, and Army of One, the Heads Up! bundle would also be the worst in the Total Tokens per Gold category. It’s only saved by having Credits instead of Tokens, which improve its Progress Value at least a little bit in the final resource count after spending all the Credits from it.
Speaking of Credits… In terms of the ratio of Credits to Gold, the bundle certainly can’t compete with the legendary Monday Booster Packs, but if you remove them (2nd chart) it doesn’t look so bad.
Yes, it’s more profitable than the shop – 1.29 Credits per Gold versus 1.25. But even the recent Loud And Lethal had 1.38 Credits per Gold! And it still got a pretty average rating compared to other bundles.
In the case of the Heads Up! bundle, even for those who really need new splits and CL track progress, I probably wouldn’t recommend the bundle for these purposes alone. You’re better off buying Booster Packs or even Credits from the shop if absolutely necessary while you wait for a bigger fish. This tadpole, even with its big head, isn’t really worth it.
What if you don’t have Headpool?
But of course if you don’t have Headpool in your collection (which is quite likely since he was released only in October last year), the bundle’s value turns out to be very high.
But if you don’t care which Series 5 card is in the bundle (for example, if you’re missing a lot of them anyway and you don’t really want to play destroy decks), I’d rather wait for a better card in a bundle to get high base value plus great additional value in the form of a Series 5 card.
Use cases for the Headpool variant
But here’s what deserves some credit – the card itself. Series 5, recently released, and more meta-relevant than bundle cards usually are! Sounds good. And even though Headpool only plays in one archetype (Destroy), if you’re a beginner trying to build at least one strong deck, your choice likely falls between High Evo, Ongoing Spectrum, and Destroy decks.
So this bundle is a good opportunity to grab a new card for a Destroy deck, especially if you have almost everything else for it. Below is one of the meta examples of such a deck:
Conclusion
Thus, the bundle itself is very, very weak. It isn’t worth buying for value, Credits, or CL track progress.
The only thing it stands out for is that it includes a variant for a fairly strong Series 5 card, which can be especially useful for beginners, players with incomplete collections, and those who love the destroy archetype and haven’t managed to get Headpool yet or just really want to add a variant for him to their collection. In these cases, I’d recommend getting the Headpool bundle, as the card is good and supports one of the main rock-solid archetypes in the game.
But in any other case, if you don’t need the card – stay away from the bundle and wait for another bundle or buy Booster Packs, it’s much better. So, since the bundle is extremely bad in terms of its base value and competes for the title of the worst, I can’t give it more than 0.5 stars. It’s so insignificantly better than the shop that it isn’t worth your attention if you’re looking for value in exchange for your precious Gold.
Also, don’t forget that you can evaluate this bundle in comparison to others using a variety of different criteria, utilizing the special chart on the dedicated Heads Up! bundle page! Below is an updated guide on how to use our tools to evaluate bundles on your own.
