Today we’re reviewing another bundle that potentially offers additional value in the form of a Series 5 card. How good is the bundle without considering the card, and how useful could it be? Let’s find out.
If we don’t count the card, we’re looking at a solid 126% Progress Value for a price of 5,000 Gold and an excellent 0.99 total Tokens per Gold (counting Tokens from both Credits and actual Collector’s Tokens).
It’s still worse than Booster Packs (1.1 Tokens per Gold), but noticeably better than buying Tokens in the Token Shop (0.75 Tokens per Gold), Tokens Tuesdays (0.80 Tokens per Gold), or even the regularly appearing bundles with Tokens for 3,500 Gold like the Perfectly Calculated bundle (0.86 Tokens per Gold).
So on the surface, the bundle already looks more interesting than many other options for obtaining Collector’s Tokens that players are used to. But let’s now compare the Ethereal Architect bundle with other similar bundles.
Comparison With Other Bundles
As can be seen from the graphs below, the bundle significantly outperforms its competitors both among unique bundles for Gold and within its price category, ranking above average among the best. In turn, its main competition comes from some of the latest bundles at the same price of 5,000 Gold: Border Bundle and Don’t Stop the Healing, which have slightly better metrics.
We see a similar picture when comparing unique bundles by their key metrics – Total Tokens per Gold and the number of Series 5 cards for every 700 Gold. In both cases, the bundle in question, when looking at bundles from the past year, only falls behind the previously mentioned Border Bundle and The One Who Knocks. Other bundles are either on par with the Ethereal Architect bundle or positioned below it.
Thus, the comparison shows that the Ethereal Architect bundle, while not at the top of the unique bundles list, isn’t too far from it. However, it’s important to remember that it still falls short compared to the Booster Packs, which should be purchased in priority due to their enormous value for both those who need Credits for new splits and those looking for Collector’s Tokens for more cards at a good price.
What if you don’t have Sersi?
So, if you don’t have Sersi, by purchasing the bundle, you won’t just be able to play with the variant instead of the base card, but you’ll also exclude the base card from the Snap Pack card pool. In the next update, you’ll even receive the base card for that variant!
So, you basically get a free Series 5 card if you don’t have Sersi. And this gives the bundle even bigger numbers. On the charts, this change also looks impressive. As always – such a bundle outpaces all other bundles and it’s not even close.
So if you don’t have Sersi and you’d like to get her, the Ethereal Architect bundle is definitely worth it!
The Usefulness of the Variant in the Meta
So, now let’s take a look at where Sersi stands in the current meta. And the answer is – not the worst! It’s definitely not the card that’s meta-defining or popular, but it can show decent performance in certain decks and isn’t completely useless.
Here are a couple of decks that utilize Sersi’s ability well and reveal her potential. It’s not the easiest way to get Infinite or get an Infinity Border, but the win rate of the decks is decent.
So buying the bundle just for Sersi probably isn’t worth it. She’s more of a nice addition for those who have already decided to purchase the bundle and can get some extra value from it. So, for those who liked the decks above and their playstyle – you’re also welcome to buy the bundle if you want!
Conclusion
Thus, in terms of pure value, this bundle will suit a wide range of players: it contains both Credits for splits and a substantial amount of Total Tokens. I especially recommend considering the purchase for those who don’t have Sersi.
Nevertheless, as I mentioned, Booster Packs are also too good to ignore, and if you can only afford to buy one thing (considering that Booster Packs cost 1,800 Gold per month) – it’s better to choose Booster Packs, especially if you already have Sersi or she isn’t very useful or interesting to you.
Given the above, I think a fair rating would be 4.5 stars, closer to 4 stars. A higher rating is unlikely here because the bundle still has competitors, and the card in it isn’t meta-defining. Nevertheless, in terms of numbers, the bundle is quite good and will suit many people based on its value.
Also, don’t forget that you can evaluate this bundle in comparison to others using a variety of different criteria, utilizing the special chart on the dedicated Ethereal Architect bundle page! Below is an updated guide on how to use our tools to evaluate bundles on your own.
