Good morning all! I’m back at Marvel Snap Zone with a deck of the day: a top deck for you to try out! My aim for this article is to get you in and out quickly and give you something new to play every day along with the tools to do well with it. Decks with Khonshu
So far, I’ve tried Khonshu in two different types of shells. One has worked great, and one has been a disappointment.
The disappointing one is the “Khonshu package” type of deck. These try to run Gorr and Iron Man and are built around the idea of using Khonshu as a finisher. These decks have been, overwhelmingly, a disappointment. Either we’re building them wrong or they are incredibly inconsistent. I lean toward the latter here, as everything needs to go right in terms of cards discarded and location revived for them to really work—and their power isn’t quite overwhelming enough to always beat the top midrange decks.
Working great, however, is the classic Apocalypse Discard deck. The numbers aren’t overwhelmingly positive here, but almost every top Win Rate deck for Khonshu is one of these, which is unsurprising. Classic Discard, like the one I’m going to discuss today, is a points deck; it wants to drop massive points late in the game to surprise opponents. It can be weak to tech like Red Guardian and Enchantress, but adding 24 Power on the last turn from Khonshu both gives you the ability to Snap aggressively and get points out regardless of tech. The big reason Swarm ended up getting cut from these decks is because it sort of insisted on M.O.D.O.K. being a Turn 5 play. Well, Khonshu gives M.O.D.O.K. the flexibility of being available on either Turn 5 or 6, and the deck is better for it.
As far as Hela goes… the Win Rate has been volatile. Denish style Hela is a high skill cap and high variance deck. I had a lot of success with it, but right now its Win Rate is low (although it was at a time the best version). I think we’re just going to need to let Hela settle to really see where this is. The home for now is Apocalypse.

This deck from our friend Unfit Parrot (Youtube link here; Twitch link here) really impressed me. I felt like I was in every game with it, and the losses came down to variance and 50-50s.
This deck has a regular Discard gameplan. Morbius and Dracula still put up crazy points, but this deck does an especially good job of getting Morbius points because it runs just so many Discard cards. Without Scorn, that could mean you need to be careful, but when it goes off you’re able to put out absolutely crazy points. Apocalypse gets seriously huge from this, too. You can even play Morbius on Turn 6 with M.O.D.O.K. thanks to Corvus Glaive.
Khonshu is extra stats here. This deck couldn’t run random discard before since hitting Dracula or M.O.D.O.K. was too costly, but thanks to Khonshu you can now run enough discard enablers and bring back key cards to make it really worthwhile. Someone in my comments suggested Ghost Rider over Malekith for redundancy, and I think that makes perfect sense. This is basically redundancy, the deck.

- Turn 6: Khonshu, M.O.D.O.K. + Morbius, or Dracula + a huge Apocalypse
