Good morning all! I’m back at Marvel Snap Zone with a deck of the day: a top deck for you to try out! My aim for this article is to get you in and out quickly and give you something new to play every day along with the tools to do well with it. If you want three more new decks today, check out this video!
It’s Starbrand day! I’m not sure that’s a good thing.

Starbrand is a [3/10] balanced by a negative Ongoing ability: he gives your opponent +3 to each other location. With that, he’ll only play as a [3/4] in terms of power (tall in one lane, but short in two).
Except there are decks that really only care about that 10 power number. Skaar and Surtur decks have finally, after numerous nerfs, been brought to a level where they aren’t the best. Those decks have a big hole in the spot Aero used to fill. Starbrand should replace Aero there, and it might increase the deck’s consistency to where it may be a meta force again. This card even gives those decks cleaner access to Iron Patriot, as there is no better follow up to Iron Patriot than a [3/10].
And then there’s our old friend Shuri Red Skull.
For anyone who is newer to the game, Shuri Red Skull was the best deck in the game and a meta scourge for a long while. The idea was to play all the negative Ongoing cards with Sauron and thus just have a ton of above-rate stats. You would also, ideally, play Red Skull on Shuri for a massive lane and copy that with Taskmaster for another huge lane, protecting with Armor and Cosmo as needed. Derek brought back that shell recently without Shuri, but, in honor of the new card, I decided to bring back the classic (Taskmaster becoming a 6-Cost instead of 5-Cost was a bridge too far).
This list should be pretty simple; Enchantress, Zero, and Sauron make Ebony Maw, Lizard, Typhoid Mary, Red Skull, and our new friend Starbrand big cards with no downside. Because they’re so far ahead of rate, you’re also very likely to get full Iron Patriot value as benefit. Add in a splash of Shuri to go to tall and Vision to be unpredictable, and we have a deck!
I’ll be playing this and every other new Starbrand deck tonight on stream!
