Good morning all! I’m back at Marvel Snap Zone every weekday with a deck of the day: a top deck for you to try out! My aim for this article is to get you in and out quickly and give you something new to play every day along with the tools to do well with it. If you want three more new decks today, check out this video!
Derek was the number 1 player in Marvel Snap in both August and September. He’s an absolutely brilliant player and deckbuilder, and whenever he plays enough he’s basically always top 5. He brews almost all of his own lists, and he absolutely hit the jackpot with this one as he’s rank 3 with it and Ekmati is rank 8.
Years after Shuri‘s dominance, this should not make sense, it should not work, but here we are. It looks like it’s putting out big power—Red Skull, Ebony Maw, Gladiator, Lizard—those are all just big numbers… but what they do together with the rest of the deck is just so strong. Iron Patriot is so important here because you have so much power to win that lane. Lizard encourages the opponent to play in a spot, only to get that yanked away by Enchantress or Juggernaut invalidating all their plays. Red Guardian stomps out anything the opponent isn’t super careful with. The list has an answer for anything that goes too tall while being quite tall on its own.
Juggernaut is the real swing card in this deck. Various versions of the list use Typhoid Mary or Ares in that spot, so if you’re looking for a weekend mission deck this one will do fine. If you make that change, though, Hydra Bob should be replaced with Zabu.
Card Replacements
- Needs: Gladiator
- Malekith -> Shuri, Typhoid Mary
- Hydra Bob -> Zabu, Armor, Shadow King
- Red Guardian -> Rogue
- Iron Patriot -> Mirage (but this is the biggest loss)
- Some versions run Typhoid Mary or Ares over Juggernaut, which requires switching Zabu for Hydra Bob
Turn by Turn
- Turn 1: Hydra Bob … Zero only if 100000% Lizard
- Turn 2: Iron Patriot > Zero + Ebony Maw > Lizard
- Turn 3: Gladiator or Sauron; Juggernaut if you MUST for Iron Patriot
- Turn 4: Malekith > 3-Cost
- Turn 5: Red Skull
- Turn 6: Enchantress or Juggernaut + whatever else you can
That’s it for today, don’t forget to check today’s video atop the page for more great decks!
