Good morning all! I’m back at Marvel Snap Zone every weekday with a deck of the day: a top deck for you to try out! My aim for this article is to get you in and out quickly and give you something new to play every day along with the tools to do well with it. If you want three more new decks today, check out this video!

Honestly, Ares is boring. He’s just a big 4-drop with a lot of stats right now, but, as a 4-Cost, he’s the biggest card with the fewest restrictions. As such, our friend SnapVariants on Twitter put him in a good shell that made sense; this deck just wanted an extra powerful 4-drop. Ares isn’t pivotal to the list, but there’s some alchemy at work here, as SnapVariants got 85 cubes in just under two hours. I tried the list on stream and promptly went 8-2 with +14 cubes. Finally, DougPie took the list into Conquest and went 11-2 (and won an Infinity Border!). This is just… impressive.
Darkhawk was, for ages, one of the best cards in all of Marvel Snap. After several nerfs to the card itself, Rockslide, and Black Widow, it finally fell from its lofty perch… or did it? Ares LOVES the opponent having Rocks in their deck—they have no power, which makes the Ares play all the stronger. On top of that, Darkhawk‘s true power has always secretly been that he robs the opponent of draws, not just his sizeable body. As such, these cards all work amazingly well together.
Speaking of, Ares wants other big, powerful cards, and there’s nothing in Marvel Snap with as much base power as The Infinaut. Playing The Infinaut means running War Machine, and once you’re there you might as well go all in with Ebony Maw. At that point, Legion allows plenty of scam wins, and now we’re really cooking.
The list is filled out with more power and unpredictability. Zabu seems simple, but the opponent cannot know what you will do and which of your 4-drops cost three. Iron Patriot gives you an extra powerful card in hand for the opponent to struggle with, but at least your opponent knows you gained something big—they get no such benefit from Copycat, a card that gives you information and steals cubes with unpredictable plays. Even Spider-Man disrupting the opponent’s placement is strong and frustrating here.
This is a list of disparate parts where the whole is just far greater than the expected sum.
