Good morning all! I’m back at Marvel Snap Zone every weekday with a deck of the day: a top deck for you to try out! My aim for this article is to get you in and out quickly and give you something new to play every day along with the tools to do well with it. If you want three more new decks today, check out this video!

Ares‘s obvious home was always going to be Surtur and Skaar decks. Those decks run a ton of big things and are always in the market for a [4/12] to help make Surtur bigger and Skaar cheaper. The list I shared in yesterday’s article with that exact combination has a 64% Win Rate at high Infinite, and I’ve received messages from multiple people saying they used the deck to finish their Infinite climb.
I’m thrilled the deck is doing well, but this next list has a 75% Win Rate (albeit with only 25 games) and it feels completely unfair.
Our friend ToxicSoulKing—check him out at Twitch.tv/ToxicSoulKingTTV—found another week one gem with this list. He sent it to me as he was cruising with the list, and I proceeded to dominate with it in high Infinite.
The strategy here is simple: look like you aren’t doing much for most of the game before creating a crazy number of points on the last turn. Black Cat discards herself, Lady Sif can get either Death or The Infinaut and Blade gives you easy access to the other (or you can cheat it in play with Blink). If you can bring just those three cards back, you get 9 Power from Hela, 20 from Infinaut, 10 from Black Cat, and 12 from Death for an insane total of 51 points across the board. That’s the main plan, and it works really well.
On top of that, Black Knight and War Machine give you options with the list. You can discard a big card like Death or The Infinaut and get a Shang-Chi proof Ebony Blade that threatens a lane. After that, just playing big cards like Ares and use Blink with a 1-Cost card like Blade, which should give you more than enough power to win.
This is simple, powerful, and, if you own the cards, a must-try.
Card Replacements
- Needs: Black Knight, War Machine, Blink
- Ares -> Cull Obsidian
Turn by Turn
- Turn 1: Black Knight -> Blade if The Infinaut; Ebony Maw if War Machine
- Turn 2: Same as 1
- Turn 3: Lady Sif if The Infinaut/Death (I usually take the Hela 50/50 if need be, too)
- Turn 4: War Machine > Hellcow / Ebony Blade > Ares
- Turn 5: Hellcow / Ares and a 1-Cost
- Turn 6: Hela / Blink for Hela / The Infinaut
That’s it for today, don’t forget to check today’s video atop the page for more great decks!
