Good morning all! I’m back at Marvel Snap Zone every weekday with a deck of the day: a top deck for you to try out! My aim for this article is to get you in and out quickly and give you something new to play every day along with the tools to do well with it. If you want three more new decks today, check out this video!

Look, this deck isn’t brand new or anything, but it had to run three bad 1-drops forever to afford Cull Obsidian. Now it can just run Sam Wilson Captain America. If you draw Sam early, you get [2/8] stats (which is pretty good), and if not it’s a free card for no cost to play Cull Obsidian and Attuma won’t destroy it—that’s pretty good.
BBAK created this version of the deck. He was the #1 player on the Infinite Leaderboard last season and has been top 10 several other times. Whenever he’s engaged, he’s near the top, and he seems quite engaged. This deck is an absolute force.
The Surtur list should be known by now, but it’s amazing how many times I see it being misplayed. This is a list that is easy to win with, but it’s also easy to only win very few cubes by Snapping too late or not reading your opponent well.
The first thing you need to identify is if your opponent is running Shang-Chi. In the current meta, Shang is mostly in Wiccan decks, Sera decks, and Mill decks. Arishem is usually cutting the card. If Shang-Chi is likely to be in your opponent’s deck, your job is to hold priority and on the last turn play Armor/Cosmo where they’re going to Shang. Then, if possible, use Juggernaut to guarantee your safety. That’s a huge cube winner!
If the opponent doesn’t have Shang-Chi, you’ll need to know the general power output for the popular decks. If you draw an early Zabu or an on-curve Surtur, you can usually overpower almost any deck. You should consider Snapping with that draw almost always. By the time the opponent realizes they’re screwed, you’ll have doubled your cubes.
Finally, Juggernaut is worth his (considerable) weight in gold. On the last turn with Skaar, he allows you to easily win your weaker lane and stack upwards of 40 power in another unbeatable lane. Aero for clog is another pretty great trick, too. Go forth and conquer!
Card Replacements
- Needs: Surtur, Skaar, Cull Obsidian, Zabu
- Ares can be Typhoid Mary, but you would need to add Luke Cage too
Turn by Turn
- Turn 1: Zabu
- Turn 2: Zabu > Sam Wilson > Armor
- Turn 3: Surtur > discounted 4-Cost > 2-Cost > Cosmo
- Turn 4: Crossbones > Cull Obsidian > Attuma > Ares
- Turn 5: Aero or a 4-Cost
- Turn 6: Skaar and either a 4-Cost/Armor or Juggernaut and whatever else fits
That’s it for today, don’t forget to check today’s video atop the page for more great decks!
