Finally, the highly anticipated bundle has been released, overshadowing all previously known bundles with its value. Introducing the Collector’s Bundle!
Let’s analyze how good it is in the upcoming system with Snap Packs instead of Spotlight Caches.
The first thing we see when looking at this bundle is its impressive Progress Value. 150% at a price in Gold, not USD, is something we haven’t seen before!
The value of Tokens per Gold at 1.09 instead of the usual 0.8 or 0.85 is also impressive. Compared to the best Token Tuesdays priced at 1,500 Gold, the Collector’s Bundle will give you 2,600 more Collector’s Tokens! That’s about half the cost of a new Series 5 card from the Seasonal Series 5 Snap Pack.
But of course, this is all assuming that you can afford this bundle. Many may have difficulties with that. 8,000 Gold is an amount that a player will earn only over 3 seasons, and not everyone reading this may have that kind of money.
Despite the high Progress Value of the bundle, it only makes sense if you’ve already accumulated enough Gold, and I wouldn’t recommend spending USD just to get the missing Gold. It would be much more beneficial to spend that USD on the Gold Pass and then buy a slightly less valuable bundle later, rather than spending USD to catch up on this one.
I also want to address a relevant question right away – which is better: the Collector’s Bundle or the new, improved Booster Packs that I recommend everyone buy due to their extremely high Progress Value and flexible price?
The answer is that the Collector’s Bundle is mathematically slightly better and provides about 260 Collector’s Tokens more for the same price. However, you’ll need to buy Booster Packs for 4 months to spend that 8,000 Gold.
But at the same time, Booster Packs have an important advantage – they allow you to split cards, and 13,300 Credits will be enough for about 10.5 splits (considering the currency earned while raising your Collection Level). Additionally, during your CL progress, you’ll get some cosmetics – around 3 variants, avatars, and titles.
So it depends on you – what to choose based on whether you need cosmetics and splits or not. But if you don’t have enough for the Collector’s Bundle, Booster Packs are very close in value, and it’s still not too late to start buying them every Saturday for a great value in the long term.
Comparison With Other Bundles
As seen in the graphs below, the Collector’s Bundle completely outshines all other bundles for Gold across any period and price category. So, its title of the best Gold bundle is well-deserved.
In terms of the total number of Collector’s Tokens per Gold, the situation is similar – this bundle simply has no equal.
There are only 2 bundles that come somewhat close to the value of 1.13 Tokens per Gold: Rip and Tear and The One Who Knocks. These bundles, due to their high Credits per Gold value, would provide a significant number of Tokens in the upcoming economy.
In the entire history of bundles, there isn’t a comparable bundle that could offer the same number of new Series 5 cards for 700 Gold. So, the Collector’s Bundle once again comes out on top.
Conclusion
Thus, this is truly the best bundle for Gold of all that could be imagined.
If you have the Gold for it, definitely buy it – you won’t regret it.
However, if you’re short on Gold or you value splits far above Progress Value, Booster Packs are still a great option. They’re slightly worse in terms of value, but they provide cosmetics and splits as a bonus.
So in my opinion, the bundle definitely deserves 5 stars. I might even give it more if I could.
