During the weekend, there is now one more set of Missions for players to complete: The Bonus Challenge! These involve additional rewards for winning games related to the week’s new card and the Season Pass card. These missions provide extra Collector’s Tokens, Gold, and Credits!
You need to win games with the card starting in your deck, and it does not count if the card was generated by cards such as Cable, Loki, and Maria Hill. Each of these reward amounts will vary depending on the difficulty of the mission. However, you don’t have to play the card during the course of the match for it to count, it just needs to be in your starting twelve!
There will be Bonus Challenge Missions available for each new card release to allow players to earn back Collector’s Tokens and subsidize their cost. Players can also expect the rewards to be stabilized at 200 Tokens to help them plan their token budget for the month.
The Amazing Spider-Season: Bonus Challenge – September 20, 2024
This week’s Bonus Challenge Missions are:
| Mission | # | Reward |
|---|---|---|
| Move Cards | 15 | 150 Credits |
| Win with Araña starting in your Deck | 4 | 200 Collector’s Tokens |
| Win with Symbiote Spider-Man starting in your Deck | 8 | 150 Gold |

Most players will want to be efficient with these missions, so today we will give you a few different decks that incorporate all the cards featured each weekend. You can find the current best performing deck for each card down below, as well as two other options to match your collection or play style preferences.
We’ll also give you a short guide on how to get the most out of the decks and finish the missions quickly. First, let’s take a quick look at the new card’s performance this week.

Araña Performance

So far, the Activate keyword has failed to impress me, especially because it does not synergize with the Bounce mechanic. Drawing Araña late in the match too often makes it a useless card when it would have been so great as an On Reveal. Maybe that’s the reason the card has an Activate ability in the end; it might have been absolutely busted otherwise.
This is what I will judge here, and the reason Araña gets the highest grade of The Amazing Spider-Season so far. When played as intended, this card is a powerhouse. Araña already managed to sneak into Move, Destroy, and Phoenix Force decks, and she also makes sense in Silver Surfer decks (or other decks with Brood).
If you are willing to Snap early in a match, Araña should be a card that you want to have in your collection. However, the relatively poor performance showcased in the image above is the result of playing Araña with a passive mindset. The card won’t win you many more games than you did before, it simply allows you to raise the stakes earlier in matches that you should win.
Post-Release Score:
Symbiote Spider-Man Performance

Symbiote Spider-Man continues to be a fine-but-not-exceptional card as the season progresses. It hasn’t made any waves this week, as neither Araña nor the cards changed in the latest OTA particularly synergized with it.
The play rate of Symbiote Spider-Man lowered a bit, though. Following the big nerfs to Sandman, a couple of decks that Symbiote Spider-Man was played in were effectively killed. Right now, the card is played in a Phoenix Force build to help Nimrod grow, as well as certain combo or gimmick decks with cards like Black Panther and Daken.
Post-Release Score:
Symbiote Spider-Man Decks
Phoenix Force is not only the best deck to complete your missions with Symbiote Spider-Man, it is also one of the few archetypes that uses both cards in the missions this weekend. Naturally, this makes the archetype a clear front-runner for anyone who is looking to quickly get them done.
If you were looking to play something else, Symbiote Spider-Man contributes nicely to combo oriented decks. It can serve as a back up plan to boost a Black Panther or Nimrod in order to duplicate it on the following turn.
Araña Decks
Araña managed to make the Move synergy more than just a nice gimmick (as long as you run some protective cards to make sure your boosted cards don’t get butchered by a Shang-Chi or Shadow King). In addition to what we all expected, other archetypes also found some upsides to a new, cheap buff becoming available. For example, Destroy will never turn down a way to grow Deadpool early on, and Silver Surfer welcomed a second Forge with open arms.
In addition to the Phoenix Force deck in the Symbiote Spider-Man section above, there are plenty of choices to pick from in order to complete the Araña missions this weekend.
Closing Thoughts
Symbiote Spider-Man got hit pretty hard by the OTA last week, as Sandman represented a great ally for the card and its nerf made both the Patriot build and the Midrange build disappear from the meta. Thankfully, Araña has made Phoenix Force a viable consideration, saving the Season Pass card from being a gimmick and nothing more.
Speaking of the new 1-Cost, Araña is doing what most people expected. She’s making the Move archetype better, and she’s a Snap worthy draw early in the match when you have a good target to buff. This aggressive play style might not be suited for everyone, but at least you get plenty of decks to chose from in order to complete your missions.
Hopefully this guide helps you decide if you want the card prior to the missions coming out, as well as what you can play to complete the missions quickly!
Good Game Everyone.
