Hardly a week has passed since the last bundle with Credits, and here we are with another one! But this time, the price is significantly lower, and there’s a variant included. Will this bundle save the day? Let’s find out!
Getting 3,500 Credits for 2,400 Gold is decent, but just recently we received improved Booster Pack bundles, and excellent bundles with Series 5 cards are expected soon, like the Don’t Stop the Healing bundle with a Progress Value of over 120% on top!
That’s why the deal with 117%, which we would have rated very highly before, now represents less interest. It’s simple – there’s just not the same demand. Those who need Credits can spend 1,800 Gold each month on Booster Packs and get 3,000 Credits from them, having 1.67 Credits per Gold compared to 1.46 here.
If you’re looking for pure value from bundles, it’s hard to find anything better than the expected bundles with variants for cards like Fenris Wolf, Luna Snow, Sersi and Diamondback, which can be used instead of regular cards. Even if you have all these cards, there will surely be more great bundles in the future with a Progress Value of 120-130%. In such conditions, 117% is just a good bundle from a past era of bad bundles, not keeping up with the current ones.
Comparison With Other Bundles
In the first three charts, it’s clear that over time, from 12 months to 6 and then to 3 months, 117% becomes an increasingly average value compared to other bundles released in the corresponding period. So time really isn’t on the side of the Blade of Radiance bundle.
The last graph presents a comparison of the Blade of Radiance bundle within its price category since the launch of Spotlight Caches. Here, it’s clear that in recent months, more bundles at this price have shown similar or slightly better Progress Value compared to earlier periods. So even at its price, the bundle slightly lags behind the latest competitors like Sorcerer’s Purr-entice, Girl Boss Era, and Protocol: Termination, with the latter even containing a Series 4 card at the time of its release.
We’ve already mentioned that the bundle in question falls short compared to the Booster Pack bundles in terms of Credits per Gold, but it also significantly lags behind the unique bundles with Credits over the past six months (when good bundles have gradually started to return), which is clearly visible in the graph below.
In terms of new Series 5 cards per Gold, this bundle also remains above average, but falls short compared to many competitors, which is especially punishing when Gold is scarce and good ways to spend it are increasing.
The Usefulness of the Variant in the Meta
Dagger is a Series 3 card, so using the variant instead of the card might only be relevant for those still collecting Series 3 cards and wanting to play in Move decks until they get the base version of Dagger.
For others, the variant may be interesting as a visual enhancement for movement decks like the Sizer move bounce deck presented below.
If you’re still in Series 3 and want to play a Move deck, below is an example of a budget build with cards no higher than Series 3.
Conclusion
So I consider it fair to give the bundle a rating of 2.5 stars. Times are changing, and it seems we’re soon going to get too many good bundles to justify spending precious Gold on such bundles with rather average numbers.
If you need Credits, just buy Booster Packs each week and save the remainder. Need more value? Spend money on a bundle with at least 125% Progress Value, or better yet, wait for a bundle with a Series 5 card variant that you don’t have.
But it’s worth noting that bundles like the one discussed are still necessary, for example, for those who have all the cards and want to have more Credits, or at least as a reference for other bundles to understand the value of a particular offer.
Also, don’t forget that you can evaluate this bundle in comparison to others using a variety of different criteria, utilizing the special chart on the dedicated Blade of Radiance bundle page! Below is a detailed guide on how to use our tools to evaluate bundles on your own.
