Will we be correct in our assessments?
5. Speed – 105 pts

Speed is low-ranked, but he seems like he should be a [3/7] most games with a [3/5] downside and a [3/9] upside. That’s almost certainly good, but the issue isn’t the card’s quality; rather, it’s whether that’s worth going out of your way to put into a deck over cards with powerful abilities like Nocturne, Copycat, and Cassandra Nova, even if the stats are premier.
The synergies for this card are very likely to be pretty clear. This card could go in Silver Surfer, but that Surfer deck would likely need some Ongoing synergy and extra 1- or 2-Cost cards to fit the curve. Those two are a big ask. Perhaps easier is a poor Ongoing deck a-la Spectrum/Jean Grey. Is the potential 2-ish power on a full Punisher worth it? Again, probably not.
There may be something to do with this card, but whatever it is isn’t readily apparent, hence the low ranking.
- GARBAGE – Dougpie
- Pretty close to a Gladiator/Sage. – NathanofParadise
- Design of Speed is too conservative. It might be a solid 3 drop in Spectrum Ongoing deck though. – SnapOrange
- Candidate for a buff 🙂 – Sizer
- This card seems super underwhelming, and I’m bummed out it’s during a week with such great spotlight variants. If you’re able to hit the requirement on the first 2 turns, Speed is a 3/6 if you play him out on turn 3, which is barely above rate for a lot of 3 drops. If you don’t hit the requirement, he’s pretty much a dead card. – Bootman
- Ongoing +1 power isn’t the most interesting ability, but can make for an easy 3/7. Also gives us a reason to play Quicksilver and Domino in a list. you also have the potential to combo with Mystique or Onslaught. – Gregor2424
- Great, basic 3 drop with not difficult condition. – SafetyBlade
4. Emperor Hulkling – 122 pts
This is my bottom card—I just can’t get my head around why I want this. As a top-end, it’s just got so few good hits. Leader, Doctor Doom, Odin, Arnim Zola, Blob, Ultron, and Alioth are good hits, but it’s not that much better in power than Odin or Ultron, let alone Alioth, so that’s just painfully few good hits. This could be statted so aggressively as to be useful, but right now, it seems like a meme card.
I’ve said this elsewhere, but if he could grab the ability of a random 5-Cost or was a 5-Cost that could become a random 6-Cost, either of those would be awesome. As is, I don’t want to use this at all.
- it was Agatha all along (˵ •̀ ᴗ – ˵ ) ✧ – ItsJustRie
- I count 12 good hits out of 29, but only half of those are GREAT hits. The Snap mechanic can support polarized cards, but I’m doubtful having only 20% great hits is good enough. He’d be so much more interesting as a 5-cost. – LaurenWhatevs
- Fun card, will be the “meme” card this season. – SuperTechGod
- Surprise. He’s a Good Card. Capital G & C. – Minh
- Highroller card, he will do nothing and sit in your hand like a brick for like 55% of your games if you draw him. – Mayhaps
- This card could be a real surprise ! You just have to put him in a deck, he dosen’t need much cards around. And after looking at T6s, I’m begining to think there is maybe a word where this guy could be clutch some games. – NiTheal
- So many options, but also so many bad options so it is a 50-50 card, depending on your deck. – Ob3sWorld
- He will be the most exciting content card this month for sure! – KKSparkles
- In a vacuum he seems powerful but most decks don’t run 6 costs and those that do run them because of their specific ability and what it offers for the deck. – Derek
- I will probably play
Hulkling over 6 cost cards like Red Hulk, Blob and Magneto. – rsBerry - A great 6-cost card that can fit into a lot of different decks. Sometimes he’s gonna get cards like Destroyer and that will be bad but there are some amazing hits. Just imagine a 6/11 Galactus, Doom… – Lufku
3. Wiccan – 154 pts

Wiccan has the same trigger ability as his twin brother, Speed, but he’s an On Reveal, so you only need him to work until Turn 4. There is, however, a big question about what the heck to do with an extra two energy. My guess is this plays really well with 4-energy cards in a 4s and 2s deck, something like Sera that basically runs Quicksilver and a bunch of 2s (including Psylocke) and a bunch of 4s like Shang-Chi. This seems really strong, if it can be consistent enough… and, problematically, Quicksilver makes you less likely to see any other card and thus a bit less consistent. Still, the #1 player of March and April (and so far, August) CrazyMSnap still thinks this is busted, so there’s very likely something here.
- It is very difficult to naturally play perfectly on curve for 3 turns. Even then, getting +2 energy for the last two turns of the game isn’t that superb. – Jimmy Dikins
- The conditions might be hard to accomplish every game, but this will make some crazy things happen. I love it. – FaThorNewman
- There is no way to counter extra Energy in Marvel Snap AND this card has a 4/7 statline? Decks can be built around Wiccan to make his effect activate very frequently. Y’all remember how Zabu was giving everyone effectively 8 energy on turn 6? – Paper
- It’s probably a trap to use Quicksilver and Domino, I imagine the card creator types will be what makes this workable. If it works it’ll be good… If. – LoganofParadise
- Someone will figure out how to consistently make Wiccan work and it will be very good. – JDMacdonaldinho
- In the example of Arishem, we have seen that mana cheats are extremely dangerous in the game. This could potentially be a very toxic card. While I believe at this point that this card won’t play on its own, I think it could find a place in the new Arishem sub-archetype based on big cards. – SoulIntent
- Like War Machine, Wiccan is often a vanilla 4/7. – Docty
- I think that this card will be good in Thena decks, in particular with the new Loki. I don’t like decks with Domino or Quicksilver, but with Zabu or Psylocke? Yes. – Comiz
2. Marvel Boy – 199

Marvel Boy is phenomenal power. In Zoo and Thanos, his natural homes, he often represents well over ten power from a 3-drop, maxing out at 14 in a six turn game. He’s just an insanely powerful card for those decks, but it’s his potential utility and creation of an extra card package that makes him so much stronger. He’s begun to find homes in Loki decks running both Mockingbird and
- Good, potentially great if you can get him on curve. This + SQ alone can be a huge power increase and you can’t shadow king all 3 lanes, great with cards like Gilga and benefits decks with Mockingbird. – NickdaGreekGeek
- Will make a bad archetype great. Better with
Kate , but this will be the game-winner payoff. – NoLucksGiven - Strong, but like many recent 3 drops will feel a bit bad if you don’t get him out on 3. The decks he works have a lot of turn 3 plays. – ParryManilow
- An unchecked Marvel Boy has a ceiling of 14 Power, presumably spread across multiple lanes. Red Guardian isn’t going anywhere, but he can only do so much. This kind of passive, painless scaling is unprecedented in Snap. Compare to Havok. – BenjaminRoller
- Squirrel Girl + Caiera +
Kate Bishop + Ka-Zar + Blue Marvel + Gilgamesh = profit? A 3/14 on curve? Nerf candidate. – SnapVariants - Killmonger is gonna feast, but this card is great. – W
- This card’s power cannot be overstated. For 3 energy you can get 10 – 12 power out of this easily. – PeacefulSea
- Probably the best card of the season, even with his change from the original version. On curve with enough targets (Squirrel Girl being a main activator probably) it’s a 3/14?. That’s pretty insane. – Gnome
- Could be very good in the most boring deck ever, zoo…. – DottGeo
1. Kate Bishop – 200 pts
- Going to give Jeff a run for its money for best plug and play 2 cost card. – Ika
- One of the best bounce cards, maybe ever. The utility of the arrows and their synergy with lanes and collector has me hyped. – Cables_Dumbs
- The next Nico Minoru. Flexible, fun, random, but controlled ENOUGH to justify plug n play status. – ItsGuestGaming
- Good season pass card! Statline is good. Most arrows can find uses in many decks. Acid is the best, Grapple can work to avoid Shang, basic is a Hawkeye and good for Zoo .. pym also works well in Zoo. Kate works well with Mockingbird and The Collector. Seems like a fun card. – Snap Decisions
- Loki rework hurt this card. It’ll be great in Thena shells and is actually probably going to be a better hit than Kitty. I don’t see her being reliable enough for Clog and too slow for Zoo. – KM Worst
- Eight to ten power for 4 Energy, spread across several cards, certainly has some synergies (Zoo, The Collector), but overall doesn’t look too appealing, especially after the Loki nerf. – Kirallas
- This is probably my most anticipated card, I might be biased because
Kate Bishop is one of my favorite characters, but I also like dump and zoo decks. Fun utility and fun curve filler! – Phil J Woodward - We always have high expectations from flexible cards. Like Nico Minoru,
Kate Bishop can provide utility at different situations and be amazingly good in a many decks. Creating Hawkeye or Ant Man in your hand is not a small feat. Acid and Grapple arrows are also very good. This card would be everywhere. – Bohe - Feels like a weaker Nico Minoru. Has upsides in Bounce, but will struggle to take Jeff‘s or White Widow‘s spot in most decks. – den
