Welcome to our new series of Marvel Snap guides, where we feature a Series 4 or 5 card and analyze how to use it. The goal is to give you a tutorial on how to use the card most effectively in an everchanging meta, as well as help you decide if the card is worth the tokens or if you should pick it up during a Spotlight Cache week!
We will aim to revise this guide each time it becomes featured in a Spotlight Cache. If the card becomes rebalanced or the meta has changed a lot, please let us know in the comments and we will look to update it based on demand!

Series 4 cards can be purchased for 3,000 Collector’s Tokens from the Token Shop initially as a weekly Spotlight featured card, or opened as one of the featured cards in the Spotlight Caches that are found every 120 Levels on the Collection Level Track after Collection Level 500 (until the next new card releases the following week).
Who is Black Swan?

Black Swan’s real name is Yabbat Ummon Turru. She comes from Earth, and is part of a group called the Black Swans. Since she is the only member ever really seen, she carries the name of her group. Her abilities include Telepathy, Super Strength, and energy projection.
She is a member of Thanos‘s Black Order, who are a team dedicated to his mission of collecting the Infinity Stones. Before her introduction to that team, she was part of the Illuminati. Her contribution allowed the Illuminati to fight back against and stop Incursions from happening across the Multiverse.
Currently, Black Swan has no media appearances. As the MCU begins to unveil Incursions, perhaps Black Swan will make her first appearance in stopping these from destroying the multiverse.
How to Use Black Swan
Black Swan is a cost reduction tool typically used for combo purposes. Allowing your 1-Cost cards to become 0-Cost can open a few possibilities with deckbuilding, specifically within the bounce and hand dump archetypes. This card is basically never played in any decks, so she currently has no good usage that elevates any decks.
Best Synergies
Falcon is the closest synergy with Black Swan. For bounce decks in particular, picking up all of your 1-Cost cards on turn 5 and making them all Cost 0 can set up for big final turn plays.
If you need multiple turns with the discount active, Grand Master can retrigger her ability without needing to replay her. This interaction never sees play, but neither does Black Swan, so we are thinking outside the box on ways players could experiment.

Black Swan was clearly intended to have synergy with Thanos‘s Infinity Stones. While the synergy works, Black Swan hardly makes the cut in Thanos lists over more key cards.

Meta Competitive Deck
With basically no Black Swan in the meta, she doesn’t have a true “meta” deck. This deck is the closest thing that tries to utilize her in the most up to date way. This deck is a
Fun Off-Meta Deck
While Thanos isn’t meta right now, this Zoo list uses the Stones as your primary 1-Cost cards. By flooding the board with them, you can use Blue Marvel for a Power bump, which then boosts your Gilgamesh! Being able to play your stones for free can also help push Thanos to his full potential!
Weaknesses and Things to Avoid
Mobius M. Mobius is the only real counter for Black Swan. Negating her ability completely makes her just a [3/5].

Cosmo can stop Black Swan‘s On Reveal from triggering, making him another counter. He does require being in the same location as Swan to be effective, and having priority if revealed on the same turn.
Closing Thoughts
Black Swan was a bad card when she was released as a Season Pass card, and she is bad now. 1-Cost cards simply don’t have enough value to warrant a card in your deck that specifically lowers their cost by 1. You need to fill your deck with 1-Costs to make her effective, and most of the time you could have just played 3 1-Cost cards instead of playing her. Simply put, this card is F-Tier until she sees a change.
