Another week – another bundle! This time we got a bigger deal, 5,000 Gold, lots of Credits and Tokens – sounds interesting. But is it worth it? Let’s break it down in detail.
First of all I want to point out one interesting thing – in my memory this is the first bundle where Second Dinner didn’t use the usual rounded values for the contents like 2,000 Credits or 1,500 Tokens, but instead put 3,200 Credits, which is actually very significant on this scale.
And this really improves the bundle, giving it a value of 0.92 Tokens per Gold, which is above the minimum recommended value where you should consider buying a Gold bundle. Yes, we see both Credits and Tokens here, which is worse than a bundle of similar value with only Credits, but much better than if it had only Tokens.
You also shouldn’t forget about the variant for Eson included in the bundle. Recently Second Dinner prefers to put Series 4 card variants in bundles, but here we see a Series 5 card, and seemingly not the worst one, which we’ll talk about a bit later.
Comparison With Other Bundles
In terms of Progress Value, the bundle performs quite well, showing values above average for both the last year and 6 months. The first sign is pretty good, but often Progress Value can be deceptive.
Within its price category, the bundle is closer to the average, so for an amount around 5,000 Gold you almost always get about the same value in terms of resource efficiency.
If you look at the big picture from the perspective of the last year in Marvel Snap, the bundle shows itself exactly at the average level of 0.92 in terms of the most important value – Total Tokens per Gold (which directly correlates with the number of cards per Gold).
And if you take a slightly shorter timeframe and look at the last six months – there are way fewer good bundles now, and the Celestial Seeker bundle breaks ahead, showing an above-average value on the level of many good bundles from the past. Not outstandingly good, but good.
So you definitely can’t say the bundle is bad. It’s not exactly a must-have either, but it’s definitely worth your attention and considering a purchase, especially given the variant for the Eson card.
What if you don’t have Eson?
And speaking of the variant. As you probably already know, by buying a bundle that contains a variant for a card you also get the base version of the card for free! In practice this means that if you don’t have Eson, buying the bundle will give you him completely for free, which basically gives you the equivalent of 5,000 to 6,000 Tokens for free (depending on how you count it).
Therefore, it goes without saying that all of the bundle’s values skyrocket and if you’re among those players who haven’t received Eson yet – buying the bundle will give you a big boost for that amount of Gold.
Use cases for the Eson variant
Speaking of where exactly Eson can be useful – well… It’s a pretty interesting card that doesn’t have huge popularity in the meta, but nevertheless it’s included in a number of interesting decks.
Below are examples of such decks: a ramp deck with Chamber that appeared in this form relatively recently but has a very good win rate; various decks with Eson, both including Thanos and Agamotto and more classic ones… And some builds of Hela-Agatha decks also include Eson. A strange decision in my taste, but it is what it is.
Conclusion
Thus, we have a representative of good bundles here. It doesn’t show outstanding results and doesn’t require you to spend all your Gold on it. But it still offers very good value for its price tag, especially if you don’t have Eson yet.
Here’s what I’d do – if you don’t have a huge amount of Tokens in reserve and you don’t mind getting more, then even without considering Eson the bundle is quite worth it. And if you’re missing Eson in your collection – definitely get it, the card and value are good enough to spend 5,000 Gold.
So in my taste the bundle deserves 4 stars. And if you don’t have that much Gold to spend at once – I advise buying Booster Packs every Monday, right now it’s still the best option in terms of resources per Gold, even if it’s slow to get.
Also, don’t forget that you can evaluate this bundle in comparison to others using a variety of different criteria, utilizing the special chart on the dedicated Celestial Seeker bundle page! Below is an updated guide on how to use our tools to evaluate bundles on your own.
