New week – new bundle! This time it breaks the usual pattern, since at first glance it offers a unique amount of in-game currency for the price. But is that really the case? Is it worth it? Let’s find out.
As we can see – the bundle doesn’t really shine value-wise.
109% Progress Value and 0.83 Tokens per Gold are pretty low numbers, more like what you’d expect from Token Tuesdays for 1,500 Gold than from unique bundles. For comparison – those Token Tuesdays have about 0.8 Tokens per Gold and 104% Progress Value.
So basically the only thing that sets the Fool Moon Fury bundle apart from the Token Tuesdays is the Series 4 Werewolf By Night card. But first, that card is turning 2 years old this month, so most people who wanted it already have it. And second, if you’re going to buy a bundle with a high-series card, you’d be better off picking one that has decent value on its own.
Comparison With Other Bundles
Judging by Progress Value – in the past year only 4 bundles were worse than the bundle under review, which sits far below average as you can see on the charts. Not a great look, if you ask me.
And judging by bundles over the last 6 months – the situation’s the same.
Within its price range of about 3,000 Gold the Fool Moon Fury bundle also performs pretty poorly, sitting far down on the charts.
And by the most important metric, Tokens per Gold, the bundle’s also showing poor numbers and is almost at the bottom of the rating.
All of the above applies to the Fool Moon Fury bundle if you don’t take into account the Series 4 card you can potentially get by buying the bundle. Let’s take a look at how much better the bundle becomes when you factor that card in.
What if you don’t have Werewolf By Night?
Surprisingly, even with a low base value, adding the Series 4 card still makes the bundle very strong and worth buying if you really need Werewolf By Night.
But overall, as I mentioned earlier, it’s usually better to wait for a bundle with a high-series card you don’t have that also has high value on its own. This advice is especially true if you’re still missing a lot of cards in your collection.
Use cases for the Werewolf By Night variant
As for decks that might need Werewolf By Night, there aren’t that many and they’re pretty niche. The card’s been through a lot of balance changes and it isn’t as popular in the meta as it once was.
Nevertheless, below are a couple of decks that still use Werewolf By Night. The first is a bit more stable and proven, based on Victoria Hand.
The second is one of the first Zombie Scarlet Witch builds – a new card from the current Season Pass. It isn’t yet clear where this deck will end up in the meta, but right now it’s showing okay results.
Conclusion
So the Fool Moon Fury bundle doesn’t offer particularly good value, nor does it include a strong card (we evaluate bundles by its base value by default).
The poor results it shows don’t let me give it more than 1 star, and I think it’s worth buying only for players who don’t currently have Werewolf By Night but urgently need it right now.
Everyone else I recommend, as always, buying Booster Packs that offer better value than most bundles (except those that include high-series cards) and waiting for other, better bundles with cards you don’t yet have.
Also, don’t forget that you can evaluate this bundle in comparison to others using a variety of different criteria, utilizing the special chart on the dedicated Fool Moon Fury bundle page! Below is an updated guide on how to use our tools to evaluate bundles on your own.
