September kicks off with a new bundle for 5,000 Gold! But something isn’t right… where are the other 500 Credits? Let’s take a closer look.
Yeah, that’s right. Compared to the previous iteration of the bundle that had more Credits, some changes happened and we got 500 fewer Credits. Just follow the timeline:
In March 2025 a very good Border Bundle dropped, a bit lost among other good bundles at the time. It had 8,000 Credits for 5,000 Gold. Then in May 2025 we got the Femme Fatale bundle with a Series 5 card variant, which lowered the Credits to 6,500.
In July the Frostfang Behemoth bundle came out with 7,500 Credits and also a Series 5 card, so Second Dinner improved the bundle and gave us good value! But apparently that was too much, so now in September instead of 7,500 Credits and a Series 5 card we got 500 fewer Credits. And this plays a big role in evaluating the bundle, which we’ll talk about a bit later.
So now the bundle has a nice rate of 0.92 Total Tokens per Gold and a value of 1.4 Credits per Gold, which is solid, but of course it noticeably loses to Booster Packs with their 1.67 Credits per Gold.
Comparison With Other Bundles
If we make direct comparisons, by Progress Value we see the bundle is barely at the average value within bundles released in a year. As for the last 6 months – it’s even worse, and the bundle is far behind most of its competitors.
When compared with bundles in the same price tier – same story. It’s barely average compared with bundles over the past 12 months and well below average when you look at bundles over the past 6 months.
Only the most important metric, Total Tokens per Gold, shows a different picture.
Among bundles over the past year this deal looks pretty good and sits comfortably above average. But recently there’ve been way too many bundles with similar value, so Locked and Very Loaded gets a bit lost among them and doesn’t seem as interesting anymore, since it’s at the average level.
For those who care about a good Credits per Gold rate, like for new splits, let’s look at that metric in comparison. And here we see a pretty interesting picture.
If you look only at unique bundles that include Credits (1st chart), Locked and Very Loaded Bundle, with its 1.4 Credits per Gold, posts a very respectable result, especially considering the baseline value is 1.25.
What’s notable – even if we put regular bundles back into the equation (2nd chart), including the extremely good Booster Packs, we find that even then the bundle sits above average, despite getting crushed by Booster Packs.
So yeah, if you need Credits at a good price and you already buy Booster Packs every Saturday – it’s a great deal for getting Credits!
What if you don’t have War Machine?
And of course don’t forget about War Machine!
If you don’t have that card in your collection yet, buying the bundle will give you its base version, plus a variant for free as a bonus. The charts below clearly show that if you add a Series 5 card to an already decent bundle, its value breaks records, making the bundle a must-have if you’re interested in War Machine.
Use cases for the War Machine variant
If we’re talking about which decks you’d use War Machine and its new variant in, the primary home for it is lockdown decks that use War Machine’s ability to the fullest.
Below is an example of that kind of deck that’s been having the most success lately. No, it isn’t a Tier 1 or Tier 2 deck, not at all. But it’s quite suitable for climbing the ladder and has a positive cube rate and win rate.
I planned to stick to one deck this time since War Machine doesn’t have that many uses, but recently a new version of the Agatha Discord deck shown below has been gaining popularity.
War Machine also does pretty well there, letting you earn a lot of points thanks to its natural synergy with Infinaut.
Conclusion
So, the Locked and Very Loaded bundle doesn’t boast extraordinary results in value, but it’s pretty good for the number of Tokens it’ll give you, and it also lets you split cards and get cosmetics on top thanks to the CL track, unlike bundles with Tokens. And like many other bundles it does, of course, lose to Booster Packs, so prioritize those first and take bundles like this as spare change.
For players who already have War Machine, I’d probably not recommend this bundle, but if you urgently need Credits or like the variant – I think it’s fine to go for it. If you don’t have War Machine and you like one of the decks above that struggle to function without this card – then definitely take the bundle, it offers a lot of value for you.
I’d give it a fair rating of 3.5 stars out of 5. While its value is slightly lower than the recent Wings of Justice, I see them as roughly on par thanks to the large amount of Credits in the Locked and Very Loaded bundle, which are always better than Tokens, especially for those who haven’t yet completed their Series 3 card collection.
It’s not yet clear which way bundles will go, but I can see a situation where, because of the Credits, I’d give this bundle 0.5 more stars in retrospect. But for now I’ll leave it at 3.5.
Also, don’t forget that you can evaluate this bundle in comparison to others using a variety of different criteria, utilizing the special chart on the dedicated Locked and Very Loaded bundle page! Below is an updated guide on how to use our tools to evaluate bundles on your own.
