The Hot Location for the next 24 hours is X-Mansion: After turn 3, add a random card here for each player. Hot Locations happen every week, starting on Sunday at 3 AM GMT. The chosen location has a 50% chance of appearing during games. Players who strategically build around the location or counter the decks that do so can have an advantage over their opponents! How will you approach the meta, and what will you do to adapt to the new season?

Strategy and General Tips
Is it time to again embrace the chaos? As far as RNG locations in Marvel Snap go, X-Mansion is right in the middle. It can be an infuriating location since the power you can get from the location ranges from -2 power to 20 power. Your odds of any specific outcome are really low, so planning for the location can be difficult. Here’s a simple way to look at a location like this:

- Ignore the location and pray you roll high and your opponent rolls low.
- Play decks with location morphing effects. Scarlet Witch, Storm, and Thanos are the main ways to accomplish this. Thanos in particular could synergize well with the new card as well – more on that later.
There is, however, a third option, and it will be our feature for this week. Keep in mind, this is a theorycraft as much as a location deck. As this is the first week of Animals Assemble, we should also look at how we can mitigate the impact of the location and play our new Hit Monkey. One card comes to mind which may allow us to keep our big card if we draw well or take a mulligan if we roll low: Beast!

Main Deck Feature
Hit Monkey gets +2 power for every card we play before it in the turn. This synergizes well with multiple low cost cards, especially if we can play it multiple times. Beast and Moon Girl allow us to replay Hit Monkey for more power and copy the card to play it twice. Alongside Quinjet, we have multiple ways to get two 1-cost Hit Monkeys into our hand for the final turns. The rest of the deck aims to make everything cost one energy on the final turn so we can play four or five cards with our Hit Monkey on Turn 6.
So why Beast? If we roll low on the location, we can use Beast to pick the card back up.
The additional synergy with Beast is picking up the bad outcomes from X-Mansion so we can replay them later for Hit Monkey buffs. We can also use Carnage into Beast to completely remove the bad outcomes and create a 1-cost Carnage for our trouble.
Moon Girl on Turn 4 has the added synergy of filling our hand with cheap, high power cards for Turn 6. This allows us to skip Turn 5 in some games, similar to the full Magik Skip combo decks but with less required set up.
This list carries only one Series 4+ card, which is the season pass card Hit Monkey.
Budget – Series 2 and Below (pre-CL 474)
In Series 2, we can use Carnage to control the outcome from X-Mansion. Therefore, playing Devil Dinosaur and the Destroy package can be a good starting point if you’re missing key cards from other Devil Dinosaur decks during the location period.
After Credits
Thanos Control lists with Beast could do a lot of work during the location. We have all the tools we need, we can turn the location off, and we can pick up bad outcomes and control the board by locking down lanes. Having an extra card to lock out the opponent via X-Mansion could also be good for you. In the spirit of the start of the new season, Hit Monkey is also featured here as a way to push extra power in the Mid and Late game.
