During the weekend, there is now one more set of Missions for players to complete: The Weekend Missions! These involve additional rewards for winning games related to the week’s new card and the Season Pass card. These missions provide extra Collector’s Tokens and Gold! This week’s Weekend Challenges are:
| Mission | # | Reward |
|---|---|---|
| Win a Location with 10 or Less Power | 8 | 200 Credits |
| Win with Elsa Bloodstone starting in your Deck | 8 | 150 Gold |
| Win with Man-Thing starting in your Deck | 4 | 200 Collector’s Tokens |
You need to win games with the card starting in your deck, and it does not count if the card was generated by cards such as Cable, Loki, and Maria Hill. Each of these reward amounts will vary depending on the difficulty of the mission. There will be Weekly Missions available for each new card release. The goal of Weekly Missions is to allow players to earn back Collector’s Tokens from new cards and subsidize their cost.
The token missions are expected to differ from week to week, depending on the card. For example, three wins for 100 Collector’s Tokens, four wins for 300, and five wins for 500, depending on the week (1,000 Collector’s Tokens is on the highest end).

Most players will want to be efficient with these missions, so today we will give you three different decks that incorporate Elsa Bloodstone.
We’ll also give you a short guide on how to get the most out of the deck and finish the missions quickly, but first let’s take a quick look at the new card’s performance this week.

Performance

Man-Thing is this season’s new Series 4 card and one that players of Junk and Toxic decks were looking forward to. It has a seemingly powerful effect, with potential of reducing the power on the opposing side of the board up to 12 power, but is it worthwhile in a metagame full of cards like Luke Cage?

The main downside of Man-Thing is that it also impacts your side of the board. This can be mitigated in two ways. First, you cannot play any 3 Cost cards or below on the lane, and second you can include Luke Cage in your deck. Luke Cage will negate the impact on your side of the board and make Man-Thing all upside. This is a powerful combination we can combine with cards like Debrii and Green Goblin to win lanes. However, the major problem for the card is that the builds strongly rely on you not only having Luke Cage yourself, but also not having your opponent play Luke Cage.
This is why the card has not had a major impact. The card is countered by a card most the current metagame wants to run anyway to avoid Shadow King and it is countered by a card that opposing Man-Thing players want to play. So whilst the effect is strong, this week more than most weeks, we have not seen the full potential of the card.
Man-Thing is currently easily countered by a strong card which would have been played anyway, resulting in the card just being a 4 Energy for 5 power often. This statline is clearly one we would not normally want to include in our decks. It also has an anti-synergy with the rest of the Junk package which requires you to play cheap cards on your side of the board to win games.

There is hope for Man-Thing as the metagame evolves in that it may become a go-to card in Junk style decks and even High Evolutionary. The release cycle of Marvel Snap punishes a card like this one more than others as the answer to it is very simple.
Even so, the effect still only impacts one lane and is dependent on your opponent. this isn’t a good sign as cards which rely heavily on how your opponent plays and what is in there deck can struggle to find homes in Marvel Snap. Fortunately even with all the negatives, he can be a strong supporting option in some strong current archetypes which gives some hope for the future here.
So, how do we use Man-Thing to rack up wins and complete the Weekend Challenge Missions?
Junk
Man-Thing feels most at home in a Junk deck where we can use him to seal locked lanes. The card is here for the effect and we often want to show it as late as possible. Here we can play it on turn 6 into targeted lanes with Luke Cage to flip power on opposing lower cost cards, or play it onto a lane we lock early to add the debuffs and win the lane.
High Evolutionary
High Evolutionary has several cards which can support the Man-Thing as we can reduce Evolved Abomination and combine it with Evolved The Thing or Evolved Cyclops to stack reductions.
This then sets up for an Alioth or The Evolved Hulk lane win on other lanes we are ahead on due to the strong 1 drops. Rogue is a must here as we want to hit the opposing counter cards where possible and enable Abomination to be reduced more often.
Elsa Bloodstone
Combining the two cards is very possible as we can play to the other way of mitigating the downside. We use Elsa Bloodstone to buff cards which can move away from the Man-Thing lane to where they will not be debuffed as well as include Luke Cage as a way to mitigate the downside.
This way we try to use the Elsa Bloodstone synergy with Jeff the Baby Land Shark, Nightcrawler, and Vision and have Man-Thing here as a potential high value 4 drop.
Closing Thoughts
Wins with the new card may seem a tall order some weeks depending what quality of card is released. Hopefully this guide helps you decide first if you want the card prior to the missions coming out, and what you can potentially play to complete the missions quickly!
Good Luck, Have Fun, and Stay Safe!
