Token Shop and Collector Tokens

Finally, our Cerebro deck can get Cerebro!

Following feedback about the frustration of some players being unable to collect the cards they want, especially if they’re missing just one card to bring a deck they love together. Second Dinner has a solution: Collector’s Tokens and The Token Shop.

Starting in the next patch, Collector’s Tokens can be found in Collector’s Caches or Reserves, which are the boxes on the Collection Level Track starting at Level 500. You can use Tokens in the Token Shop to acquire cards you don’t have yet. The Token Shop rotates every 8 hours, and because these cards rotate so often, you’re likely to see a card you’ve been waiting for relatively quickly. If you don’t have the Tokens on-hand, no problem – you can pin the card in the shop so it won’t rotate, and buy it when you have enough Tokens.

The “New Cards and How To Get Them” article does a great job of explaining exactly how the token shop works, and even offers a clear breakdown of where you’ll get them. Collector’s Tokens are REPLACING boosters in Collector’s Cache’s and Reserves – both of which will have a 25% chance of dropping 100 tokens each, but once players have every single card in Pool Three and below, they’ll gain an additional 22% chance to get 400 tokens – quite the upgrade!

How Many Tokens Will I Need For Each Card?

Pool 3 Card: 1000 Tokens
Pool 4 Card: 3000 Tokens
Pool 5 Card: 6000 Tokens

We’ll get into Pool 4 and Pool 5 below, don’t worry! Over time, some cards will be moved down from Pool Five to Pool Four, and from Pool Four to Pool Three – this should ensure that players starting later aren’t going to experience an enormous gap, and if you aren’t sure that you want to burn 6000 tokens on a Pool Five card, you can simply wait till it gets cheaper. Second Dinner is still figuring out the exact details of what cards will be moved and why, but the goal is that cards move over the course of months, not years – stay tuned for updates on this one!

A Gift To Get You Started

In order to celebrate the new changes, and get players started in using the Token Shop, the first time you log in after the new patch, you’ll gain one of the following:

500-999 CL: 3,000 Tokens
1000-2999 CL: 6,000 Tokens
3000+ CL: 12,000 Tokens

If you’re not currently at Collection Level 500 when the shop releases, you’ll be gifted 3000 Collector Tokens once you reach it!

Updated Road Map Coming In December!

One of the small, easier to miss details in the most recent video update shares that Second Dinner have already achieved so much of what they set out to achieve on their last Development Roadmap! – With that in mind, we’re told to expect a brand new, updated one in December, so keep your eyes peeled!

NEW CARDS!

Alright! Onto the real meat-and-potatoes of today’s announcement! – Second Dinner seemed concerned that once players had earned all the currently available cards on the Collection Level Track, there was less goals for players to look forward to achieve it. The feeling of Collection Goals is a feeling that is important to Marvel Snap, and one they’re keen not to lose – this has lead to the introduction of Pool Four and Pool Five!

Pool Four – RARE

Pool Four is launching with ten new cards! Unlike earlier series, you’ll be able to open Pool Four Cards in Collectors Reserves even if you don’t have all of Pool Three! These cards are very rare, approximately ten times more rare than anything in Pool Three – don’t forget, if you’re desperate for something specific, wait for it to appear in the Token Shop!
