Overall, neither card made a visible impact on the metagame. Galactus First Steps found its way into multiple archetypes, but does not to be anything but points atop the curve for now. Considering its best decks were all existing builds from last season, it feels like the new season pass is benefiting from strong refined archetypes rather than pushing its own agenda at the moment.
As for Stardust, the card acts as a standalone inclusion in certain decks, neither feeling necessary nor out of place. As expected, the 4-cost is a good inclusion if you expect to go against many decks with summoning abilities. So far, disruptive decks seem to use Stardust the most.
Although both cards failed to become more than just inclusions in well-known archetypes, their missions should be quite simple to complete. Indeed, neither Galactus First Steps nor Stardust will unbalance your deck if you decide to include them, giving you a large range of possibilities to get a few wins with either.
| Mission | # | Reward |
|---|---|---|
| 15 | 150 Credits | |
| Win with Stardust starting in your Deck | 4 | 300 Collector’s Tokens |
| Win with Galactus First Steps starting in your Deck | 8 | 150 Gold |
Stardust Performance

Stardust isn’t popular at all, but the numbers are telling us we should consider the new 4-cost.
Wait, never mind. This is the first week of the season, so every card in the game looks absolutely fantastic at the moment. Indeed, 0.6 cube average plus a 58.5% win rate would be an easy Tier 1 at any other time of the season. Unfortunately, these numbers only rank Stardust in Tier 4 at the moment, the lowest one possible.
The reason is quite simple : There aren’t many decks annoyed by Stardust’s ability right now. Indeed, End of Turn does not summon many cards while Iron Hand except for Squirrel Girl to synergize with Marvel Boy.

Galactus First Steps Performance

Thanks to its possible pairing with the End of Turn archetypes, the new season pass managed to polish its cube and win ratios early in the season. Galactus First Steps is more than that, as the card also appears in Wiccan Control, Supergiant control or Clog to name a few archetypes. Yet, it is alongside Invisible Woman First Steps the best results are posted.
It will be interesting to see if the card will be able to become more than just a big drop in already made archetypes in the future. For now, it feels like most players are testing it as a source of points in certain decks possibly lacking in that department, rather than building for Galactus First Steps specifically.

Bonus Challenge Decks
Neither card is particularly synergistic with an archetype at the moment, meaning we can include Stardust or Galactus First Steps in a variety of decks to complete their missions.
Here are the two best performing builds with both cards included:
Wiccan Control follow a precise game plan, but can do it with a multitude of cards as long as Quicksilver, Mercury, Cannonball and Wiccan are in the deck. Last season, that same archetype used the Fenris Wolf package, and is now experimenting with Silver Surfer First Steps.
As for the Guardians of the Galaxy, they don’t pertain to a specific synergy, so the deck feels extremely flexible to one’s preferences or collection.
Here are other decks using Galactus First Steps. These are a bit more synergistic, so including Stardust might prove trickier than in the previous two.
