Another bundle for Gold became available a few days ago. This time it contains only Collector’s Tokens and, as you might guess, it isn’t the best deal if you want more Progress Value than usual. Let’s dive in.
Guide
Priced at 5,000 Gold, the bundle essentially represents 3.33 of the best available Token Tuesdays with cosmetics on top. Not the best offer, considering that such bundles are available every two weeks, and in a month, you can barely save up for both. So the deal already isn’t great.
Also, note that the calculations on the website are based on the average value of the Token Tuesday bundles, so you might see not 100% Progress Value, but 103.9, as it takes the average between the bad and good versions of Token Tuesdays, which alternate with each other.
Comparison With Other Bundles
So, I don’t think it will be a surprise that the Skulls And Skills bundle is below the average value for bundles both in the entire history of bundles after the update that added Spotlight Caches, and in the last 6 months, when bundles have significantly lost value.
When compared to bundles with a similar price, it’s also not great—below average, among the underperformers. It’s not surprising, considering the 0% additional value.
The tokens-to-Gold ratio is at 0.8, which is the baseline for the good version of Token Tuesdays. This is fine if you were planning to buy Token Tuesdays anyway, but not if you were hoping to get additional value after roughly 2 months of waiting and saving up the necessary Gold.
In addition, it’s important to understand how good the variant card included in the bundle is, as this can also have its own value.
The Usefulness Of The Variant In The Meta
Taskmaster is a Series 3 card, which means those who don’t have it can use it as an alternative to the basic card in their decks. And Taskmaster can help players with an incomplete Series 3 to build a Shuri or Mister Negative deck. And this is the kind of card you don’t want to take for free as a Series 3 once a season, but it’s also a card without which the budget Shuri archetype simply doesn’t work.
For veterans, Taskmaster also won’t gather dust in the collection. It’s a card with a unique mechanic and frequent appearances in the meta. So, getting a variant for him is quite nice.
Conclusion
Thus, the Skulls And Skills bundle doesn’t provide any additional value if that’s what you need from bundles (which is understandable). Therefore, as a way to get more for your Gold, it isn’t worth it at all.
However, if you’re just starting out in Marvel Snap and somehow have 5,000 Gold, then as a way to spend it on tokens when you know which card you want, it’s good—especially if Taskmaster will be useful to you.
Overall, the rating is 1 star out of 5. If there were at least 500 more tokens, the conversation would be entirely different, but 0% additional value does its job and doesn’t allow recommending the bundle to a wide audience.
