After a string of bundles that contained only Tokens or Credits, we finally got a bundle with both at once! But unfortunately that’s unlikely to be a plus. Let’s find out the real value.
As you can see – the Progress Value and Total Tokens per Gold of this bundle are pretty much the same as for the regularly recurring bundles in the “3,000 Tokens for 3,500 Gold” category. So it’s basically the same thing, but with proportionally less content for a lower price and with a partial conversion of Tokens into Credits. Yet the final value stays about the same – 0.86 Total Tokens per Gold. So there’s hardly any real benefit here.
Comparison With Other Bundles
All charts comparing this bundle to other bundles by Progress Value except one show how low the Relic of Annihilation bundle ranks.
Only the chart with bundles at roughly the same price across the whole period after the Spotlight update shows the bundle as slightly above average – which isn’t even much of a compliment.
By the most important metric, Total Tokens per Gold, it’s even worse – the bundle is below average and only a few other bundles, especially over the six-month period, are worse than it.
Since the Credits in the bundle are just for balance, don’t expect a good Credits per Gold value. If you’re here for that – definitely pass on it.
Use cases for the Destroyer variant
Several niche but interesting decks and synergies are tied to Destroyer.
The first deck that probably comes to mind is the famous Spectrum Destroyer deck – an example of it is shown below. The deck isn’t exactly meta, but it’s pretty strong, especially after Destroyer’s recent buff.
Another deck that can effectively showcase Destroyer is the Phoenix Force deck – specifically the Deadpool variation.
So yeah, if you want to flex the variant by using it in one of your decks – these two examples work well.
And like you probably figured out, Destroyer is a Series 3 card, so any extra hidden value tied to getting the card for free only applies to players who are still collecting Series 3 cards. Of course, other players can’t have a problem with not having Destroyer in their collection – everyone already has him.
Conclusion
So the bundle turned out modest and leaves a bad aftertaste. There’s little Progress Value and few Total Tokens, so the bundle will give few cards as a result – I suggest anyone who’s thinking about buying skip it in favor of a bundle with a Series 4 or Series 5 card you don’t have. And of course buy Booster Packs every Saturday, they’re the best source of value right now!
Given all that – I can’t rate the bundle higher than 2 stars. It’s cheap, underwhelming, and doesn’t make sense for most players.
Also, don’t forget that you can evaluate this bundle in comparison to others using a variety of different criteria, utilizing the special chart on the dedicated Relic of Annihilation bundle page! Below is an updated guide on how to use our tools to evaluate bundles on your own.
